21.01.2022 Errinundra blockade enters week 6! Camp Errinundra had lots of visitors over the long weekend, we did some spotlight surveys for Greater Gliders, tree climbing,... tree measuring, scouting and much more. Camp is always in need of support, and there's so much to do and learn while you're there. Get in touch with us if you can make it out to camp. If you can't make it out but want to support and take action, get in touch with decision makers to call for protection of these precious forests! https://www.geco.org.au/take_action_for_forests

21.01.2022 All ears were pricked in Goongerah today listening hard. Dr Graeme Lorimer fascinated all with his intimate knowledge of ecological recovery post fire. Thank you Graeme for such a fascinating day. And to Goongerah Landcare for the delicious lunch.

18.01.2022 Hi! Hopefully everyone is staying safe during this current crisis! Things have been moving along here at the shelter, with the rebuilding of several animal encl...osures. With financial support from Wildlife Victoria, some of your donations, and with help from Carmen and Szu Szu's our friends from Alice Springs, together we managed to erect this Wombat shed. The enclosure will now no longer flood (if it ever rains again), and our rehabilitation burrow will remain dry. Luckily our helpers got out mere hours before the border closed! Thanks again for all your support.

18.01.2022 The East Errinundra River head waters (pic) contain the largest stand of #Rainforest in Victoria. The recent fires went out as they neared this magnificent env...ironment , arguably also the wettest and longest un-burnt place in Victoria. #OldGrowth #Amazing Just down the road other rainforest, did not fair so well and will require decades without further disturbance (fire/logging) if they are ever to regain their former glory Now, more than ever, it is critical we afford these natural wonders every conservation measure possible to allow them to recover. 16.01.2022 Hi everyone! We got a wonderful surprise in the mail this week from the students of Loretto in Melbourne, who have coloured in wildlife pictures and made cards. Thanks kids this made our day!.

16.01.2022 Easier than a letter or email - pick up the phone and let her office know where your vote will go next election.

16.01.2022 Hi everyone! Rena and Joe want to thank anyone who has given directly or to Chuffed, and to let you all know how amazed they are with the support and kind word...s they've received. Your contributions will certainly go a long way to re-establishing Wallabia to continue to care for the orphaned and injured animals of East Gippsland. Kind Regards Check out these photos from earlier today of the Norwood football team, who delivered food for us to distribute to landholders feeding wildlife in burnt areas near their homes.

13.01.2022 Hi everyone! This is a special thank-you post to the wonderful Purcell family who came to visit at the temporary shelter last week. To Charlotte, Molly, Luke, ...and Tanya, of Charlotte's Drought Journey, Joe and Rena were very moved by your visit and your continuing journey support of farmers and wildlife. Their Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/groups/2174718042759468/ The vouchers they donated were used to buy end assemblies for the wombat enclosure in Goongerah, so that Wombats Fred and Kip can safely return there in the coming week. These have been installed by Joe, who went back to Goongerah to prepare for the return and to further assess the cleanup situation. Thanks again to everyone for their continuing support for our wildlife.

12.01.2022 Earlier this year we visited the ancient forests of Kuark with wilderness photographer Rob Blakers. A shocking series of before-and-after shots show the horrifi...c impacts of the fires to ancient and rare cross-overs of warm and cool temperate rainforests. Environment Victoria have traveled to bushfire affected areas and communities to create a series of short films. This part in the series shares the story of Kuark, Rob's journey there, and of long-time forest campaigner and ecologist Rena Gaborov, who lost her home and wildlife shelter in the fires. It brings home the urgent need to protect forests and wildlife across Victoria in the wake of this summer's catastrophic bushfires. Government logging cannot go on business as usual in burnt and unburnt forests when so much has been lost. Take action and email Premier Dan Andrews here; https://www.geco.org.au/email_the_premier_no_more_native_fo : David Franjic

08.01.2022 Last week Rena and Joe returned to the burnt landscape of Goongerah to begin rebuilding the wildlife shelter and their lives. The kangaroos and wombats have re...turned with them, although Ginger the ring-tail possum might have to wait a little longer to come home. Thanks again to everyone who has donated to the shelter. A few fundraisers have been held recently so a big shout-out to these good folk: Everyone who ran the bushfire benefit gig at the Bergy Seltzer bar in Brunswick, proceeds from which went to a number of wildlife shelters in East Gippsland and North East Victoria. https://thebergyseltzer.com.au/ Jacinta and everyone at the TBar in Verbier Switzerland who held a fundraiser raising over $5K https://www.centralhotelverbier.com/tbar Calendulina and colleagues who raised over $3K Huge thanks for your continuing support for our wildlife.

04.01.2022 BREAKING: Bulldozers have moved into a coupe called 'Alla Turca' on Bidewell Country near the Errinundra Plateau this morning. The government are starting to te...ar down these forests! The Environment Department found more than 10 Greater Gliders there. The law says the forests should get saved. But the Department are saying some of the Gliders don't count and they're not protecting it... WTF? Let's light up Lily D'Ambrosio MP's phone on 03 9637 9504. We need to get the message across. We want those bulldozers out of these precious forests and the Gliders protected!
