14.01.2022 Community Garden Update: Firstly thank you to the local community members for their continued supporting in contributing new plants, food scraps for compost and watering. So excited to announce we have the following growing in our garden: -mint -parsley (thank you Mario)... -coriander -cabbage -lemon thyme -dill -thyme -tomatoes As well as our worm farm and compost helping us turn our organic waste into a sustainable food source for our plants Would love Rosemary, chives, chilli and marigolds in any planter boxes if someone has any to donate (we have a native that looks like rosemary but is in fact a native bush plant). Thank you also to Ursula who is planning a frog farm which will be an amazing addition to our garden (and very cool to show the kids) So please, come and enjoy our community garden and dont feel afraid to get involved in this community run project. Happy planting Gordon Park

09.01.2022 Today we celebrated the opening of the Gordon Park Community Garden. I couldnt be more appreciative of the support I received in launching this project. Especially the locals and small businesses donating their produce, food waste and time to help with watering, planting and planning of the launch. Thank you! Its hard to believe that an idea that was thrown out to the GP Park Mob forum only two months ago, already has a working worm farm, composting bin and garden beds spro...uting with a variety of herbs and plants. The sense of community we have in the Gordon Park/Kedron area speaks for itself and was really felt at todays launch. For me, this project is about two things: firstly promoting sustainable living, and secondly, the bringing together of locals within the community. As a small business owner myself, it is humbling to see the locals line up daily for their coffee at Kit Gloves, book in the hair cuts at Buzzards, or have their tans/beauty/lash/hair services done at Cocoa & Cream. You may not realise the impact that your choices of where you buy from have on the small business during a period that have been so stressful for us, and this is our opportunity to give back to you. Thank you I hope as a community you get as much enjoyment out of the Gordon Park Community Garden as we have experienced in providing this area to you. See more
