24.01.2022 The Gorge Chocolates renovation is looking great. It has completely opened up the shop and given it a great outlook. A cafe is being created, so that soon guests will be able to relax and enjoy our famous hot chocolates and other treats, while watching the antics of the alpacas. A resource room has also been created to accommodate groups, kids parties, Alpaca Fibre workshops etc. Stage 2 of the renovation will incorporate a deck, where guests can relax with a drink and a platter of local produce and enjoy the outlook. Lots of good things to come!

22.01.2022 Meet the team Tuesday! The most senior member of the Gorge Chocolates team is Ian. He started off as an agriculture teacher, then retail, then a full time alpaca breeder for over 20 years. Now we let him think that he oversees everything that happens here at Gorge Chocolates. Ian’s business experience has been invaluable in the running of Gorge Chocolates. Ian looks after the orders, accounts etc. We try to keep him out of the chocolate room, as he tends to sample too much of the product. Ian is also kept busy with his other business concerns, such as running Surilana Alpacas and selling and exporting alpacas. Ian is also involved in a business that buys Australian Alpaca fleece to provide for markets world wide. A busy boy!

22.01.2022 This group had lots fun at Gorge Chocolates. While half of the group enjoyed their time with the alpacas, this group had fun making their individual chocolate pizzas. They were very creative!

20.01.2022 We were fortunate enough to come across a young, local girl, Brooke to join the Gorge Chocolates team Although young, we can describe Brooke as a whirl wind and dynamo at Gorge. Not only has Brooke shown a talent at chocolate making, we rely on her to do our social media, web site, orders, invoicing, customer service etc There is not much that Brooke can’t do! Customers appreciate her friendly and bubbly personality. Soon Brooke will embark on a Business Course to further her knowledge and skills. When our cafe opens shortly, Brooke will no doubt take on these extra duties in her stride

20.01.2022 The next member of the Gorge Chocolate team is Matt. He is without doubt the most multi tasking member of our team. Known as the Alpaca Whisperer, Matt has worked with us for 10 years, with hands on management of our large alpaca stud. He also shears all our alpacas, as well as running his own mobile shearing business, (The Alpaca Whisperer) in Victoria. Last year, Matt travelled to Malaysia to give hands on instruction on Alpaca care and management. Matt has recently been assigned as the Chief Nut Roaster of the our new venture, The Big Nut. The range includes caramelised, salted and chilli nuts. They are irresistible and addictive! Find the Big Nut Range on the Gorge Chocolate site. 20.01.2022 Here we have the gorgeous Emma, you will see her in and around the shop lending a helping hand. Whether this be out the front serving and making hot drinks, or out the back packing and decorating our chocolates. In her spare time she, alongside her husband Tim, are busy on their farm and spending time with their adorable little boy Lucas Although Emma has been with us for a few months, we would like to welcome her to the Gorge Chocolates Team
