25.01.2022 Hey Everyone! We are holding our next grading on Saturday 18th July. Please appreciate that we will be assessing all students on many facets including ensuring they have completed the minimum number of classes, as well as the required improvement in their skill sets for the grade they are working towards. For those who attend the zoom training, we will be taking these class attendance into account as well.... Our goal is to ensure that our students have a positive learning experience, and even gradings are not the only measure of progress, they are certainly a worthy goal that all karate students aim towards. If your child is not quite there yet, please understand that we run gradings very frequently and we will make sure that they continue to work towards their next level... the next grading is always not that far away so no one will ever miss out! If you are not yet a member on our Private Members FB Group, please send me a friend request (to Stacey Karetsian) and then once we are friends on Facebook i can add you to our 1) Members Group and 2) Kids Class Group. This way you will be getting all the online learning and tutorials that we are working on...... This class colure is temporary.... may be 3 weeks... might be longer.... However, your training and karate development is not temporary... As a student of karate I encourage you to continue to stay active, train at home, learn from the online classes and kata workshops that we will be posting in our private members groups, and when the classes re-start you will be able to show us all that you have learnt and developed. 19.01.2022 Notice to all members, As a Professional Martial Arts Academy, we take all Health and Safety matters seriously. With recent events surrounding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have been closely monitoring what is going on, and how it impacts on our training, and more importantly, the health and safety of our members and their families.... With this in mind we have implemented some additional measures. We have always held a high level of cleaning and sanitation and have now increased this. Our club already enforces a strict hygiene policy and we are encouraging (and enforcing) additional personal hygiene of all students. We have introduced sanitising gel and wipes at our clubs for all students to use before and after every class. Any student who is sick should stay home until they are better. For the time being, we are modifying some partner work in class. This includes no person to person contact so no sparring, or close quarter drills. There is still plenty of things to learn with focus being on basics, combination drills, kata, fitness work etc. If you are travelling or arriving back from overseas, please do not return to training for 14 days, and ensure you are free of any ill health symptoms. We will offer make up classes to anyone who is not able to attend training during this period. In addition, we will add extra classes to the timetable after things settle down. These will be available for all members to use as make up lessons or even extra classes to continue to build your skills and progress towards future gradings. We are doing everything we can to ensure that classes remain the same, and students continue to enjoy the action packed fun of training with Goshukan Karate Academy. (Tournament Registration Link below) The tournament classes are held in Liverpool on a friday night, taught by Stephanie Johansen and Mitchell Robinson Sensei's and in Seven Hills on Sunday morning taught by myself and other visiting instructors on the day! ... 03.01.2022 Hey guys! YES!! We are open and running classes as normal! We will obviously keep an eye on the daily updates and government guidelines with regards to the situation.... In the meantime - other than following our strict hygiene and sanitation guidelines, we must also practice some common sense people. Yes, this is a serious situation and our safety is paramount... but so is our sanity. THIS IS THE TIME TO BUILD OUR IMMUNE SYSTEM! We need to stay active, stay healthy, and rest well. This is how we build our immune sytem, and we do this by eating clean, fresh food, upping our antioxidant intake, limiting fast food and processed food, having plenty of rest, and staying PHYSICALLY ACTIVE... YOU KNOW, LIKE DOING KARATE! A strong immune system will help to fight off all colds, flus, viruses and diseases. Theres no guarantee that it will stop everything, but why take the risk right? So my advice to you is to take charge of your health and well being and do whatever it takes to stay safe using common sense principles that we have adopted in our classes, and build your immune system up making good choices. Eat Clean & Healthy Real Food Drink Plenty of Water & Stay Hydrated Get Good Rest and Sleep Stay Physically Active and TRAIN Your Body and Mind Stay POSITIVE!
