19.01.2022 Another fantastic day’s cricket in round 2 of the McDonald's Country Championships Southern Pool here today in Goulburn. Riverina continued on their strong star...t the Championships defeating Western to remain undefeated, whilst a late order fightback saw ACT Southern Districts grab their first win of the Championships. Matt Skinner was the best with the ball from Western Zone taking 2/27. In reply, Western got away to a solid start with the Qureshi brothers Jameel 38 and Imran 30 both getting starts. This however would be the story of the day with no batter going on with it to see Western dismissed for 189. Spinner Ben Mitchell enjoyed a good day, taking 3/44 following on his performance with the bat, whilst Nathan Brown and Dean Bennett both took 2 wickets. ACT Southern Districts v Greater Illawarra at Seiffert Oval Batting first, Greater Illawarra batted steadily to tally 7/220 from their 50 overs, with Brynley Richards notching up his second half century for the Championships in scoring 62.
