24.01.2022 Minister for Police and Emergency Services, David Elliott, has announced Rob Rogers as the new Commissioner of the NSW Rural Fire Service. Commissioner Rogers h...as been acting in the role following the departure of Shane Fitzsimmons in May. Following a competitive recruitment process, Rob has been appointed to the role to see the Service through the next season and beyond. I’m excited by the opportunity but also very mindful of the challenges ahead, especially after last season’s terrible conditions. I look forward to continuing on the path we have set over the past few months like our priorities which focus on our volunteers and community the things that matter most like improving the way we respond to incidents, and the trucks and equipment that our members use. The NSW RFS is an organisation that has been a part of my life for a very long time and I’m looking forward to continuing to build it and support its members into the future. See more

17.01.2022 The heatwave forecast for this weekend has been upgraded to extreme. If a fire starts under these conditions fire behaviour is likely to be erratic and unpredic...table. Take extreme caution in all activities to minimise any source of ignition. Review your Bush Fire survival plan and know what you will do if there is a fire in your area. 15.01.2022 Today Goulburn Support assisted Marulan along with other Brigades.

14.01.2022 The 2019/2020 financial year has been a busy one for the brigade with a total of 127 callouts. Members have attended numerous fires declared section 44's (localised "State of Emergency") , both locally and around the state, as well as the general Motor Vehicle Accidents, Bush and Grass fires, Structure fires, etc. One of the more unique callouts we attended was to assist the RMS clear ice and snow from the Hume Highway to allow traffic to flow up a hill.... We never quite know what we might get called to but we are here to respond when required. Below Are some photos of different callouts we have attended over the financial year, they are in no particular order.

13.01.2022 Today at 1.15pm our Brigade attended a 52 hectare grass fire at Robbs Lane Chatsbury along with other local Brigades. Great work by all crews in getting it under control.

10.01.2022 Yesterday the Brigade undertook some inter-agency training with our friends at Fire and Rescue NSW Station 305 Goulburn. It was great to catch up away from an actual incident , share knowledge, skills and get a greater understanding of each others capabilities.

09.01.2022 What a day.... From alpaca rescues at Gundaroo to pumping water from houses at Gunning. From responding to submersed vehicles at Wollogorang and Middle Arm to ...delivering urgent medical medical supplies at Towrang. From assisting the SES in Goulburn with door knocking residents to driving to Bango and around Yass to provide intel. Our amazing volunteers have been everywhere today in some pretty shocking conditions. Across the Southern Tablelands, some waterways are still slowly rising tonight while others slowly falling, but there is maybe some more rain on the way. 04.01.2022 The Bush Fire Danger Period will offically start on the 1st October 2020 for the Southern Tablelands Zone (Goulburn Mulwaree, Upper Lachlan & Yass Shire Council... areas). If you intend to continue undertaking burning activities you will need a permit, as well as notifying your neighbours and the fire control centre - failure to do so, can result in a substantial fine being issued. Permits can be obtained from your local brigade. Now is the time to prepare and test your Bush Fire Survival plan!! For further advice in preparing, Visit: rfs.nsw.gov.au/plan-and-prepare
