03.01.2022 South Canterbury farmer Raymond Bowan grew up around potatoes. As a young lad he earned his pocket money digging up spuds on the neighbouring property, returning home after a long days work with mud on his boots, dirt under his nails and a satisfied grin on his face. Years later, when the local chip factory closed its doors, Raymond seized the opportunity to fulfil a lifelong dream, and Heartland Chips was born. To this day the potatoes we use are grown on the Bowan family f...arm at Fallgate, just outside of Timaru, South Canterbury, New Zealand. When they leave Fallgate the potatoes are transported 30km down the road to the Heartland Chip factory, where theyre sliced, cooked, packaged and distributed to outlets throughout New Zealand, Singapore and, now, Australia! All the sauce mixes are easy to use and designed to be cooked in a slow cooker - just follow the instructions on the back of the pack!... Shopping List - Beef Brisket: 1 kg - Sticky Beef Brisket Sauce Mix; 75g - Water: 150 ml - Chinese Style Pancakes: 16 - Root Ginger (grated): 1-inch piece - Spring Onion: 1 bunch - Cucumber: 1 - Soya Sauce: 4 tablespoons Prep. 1 - Place the beef brisket in your slow cooker pot. 2 - Blend the Sticky Beef Brisket Sauce Mix with the water and pour over the beef. 3 - Cover and cook for 4 hours on HIGH or 8 hours on LOW or until the meat is tender and cooked through (keep covered during cooking, cooking times may vary between slow cooker models). 4 - Remove beef from the slow cooker and use two forks to shred. 5 - Add the shredded beef back into the sauce, along with the ginger and soya sauce and stir through. 6 - Slice spring onions and cucumber lengthways. 7 - Add 2 tablespoons of the brisket to each pancake and top with some spring onion and cucumber.
