23.01.2022 QWildlife, a mobile application designed to enable the public to report crocodile sightings and help park rangers efficiently respond to reports. This application was built with confidence, as a result of using Esri mapping technology; ArcGIS AppStudio and Survey123. "As a business, we've been using AppStudio for quite some time, and we chose it because we could get something out very quickly. The app also leverages Survey123, so it fit in terms of a best practice, cross-platform solution," says Gareck (El Captain of GP One). Thanks to our team here at GP One and the Queensland Government Department of Environment and Science (DES), members of the public are now able to easily capture and view crocodile sightings using their smart phone! Additionally, Queensland Government wildlife management staff are now able to manage and respond to sightings of crocodiles. How you ask? Well its simple, thanks to the development of the CrocWatch app, ‘QWildlife’. https://environment.des.qld.gov.au//croco/report-crocodile

23.01.2022 Last Friday, our team members Gareck, Pat, Josh and Esh spent the day at the 2021 SA GIS in Local Government Seminar. The team had the pleasure of learning the latest technologies and theories in Local Government and had the ability to showcase a range of topics involving applications of GIS. It was extremely delightful to have the opportunity to converse with like-minded individuals and companies and after many conversations later, here’s what the team had to say... What I... found most interesting was the application of AI to draw polygons around detected trees, which allows the Council to identify where there is room to plant new trees, to keep up with their canopy plan. - Josh I really enjoyed the presentation by Alison from Barossa Council. She was super motivated, and it was great fun hearing their story of how they went through the journey. Oh, and not to mention the ESRI pens! - Pat

22.01.2022 GP One saddled up for the ‘race that stops the nation’ this year at The Banquet Centre. With elegant fits, handsome suits, a 4-course lunch and 3 hours drink packageit was understandably a terrific day. We were thrilled our little friend Rona had its restrictions eased prior to the show-stopping race, as our Senior down in Adelaide, Pat was able to join us! Along with Jesse who you know is running the show down in Brissy, and let’s just say he arrived in styleas he came dressed to impress and took out the win for the men’s fashion on the field! Overall, it was a wonderful day to say the least. There was a positive vibe, and everyone was enjoying each other’s company!

20.01.2022 In Australia, it's estimated that 45 per cent of people will experience a mental health condition in their lifetime. This is a heavy statistic, and with #MentalHealthMonth and #WorldMentalHealthDay on the 10th October, we all need to work together to help fight mental health related stigma and facilitate positive and non-judgmental discussion surrounding this important topic. Have the conversation. Check up on your family, your friends, your neighbours and yourself. When we... connect, we feel better. Lifeline on 13 11 14 is a great place to start if you are needing some help right now If your life is in danger, call 000. Let’s promise to look after our Mental Health and wellbeing, today and everyday! #MentalHealthMatters https://www.beyondblue.org.au/ https://www.lifeline.org.au/

16.01.2022 Remembrance Day May we remember the fallen soldiers and their sacrifice to our country. #LestWeForget

16.01.2022 Our team member Jesse is currently working with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA), assisting with the Field Reporting System (FRS). The FRS is an application, used by GBRMPA and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) to capture and record events at sea (along with the location at which these events occurred at), ranging from mooring inspections, to public contact reports. Such events relay into the ArcGIS system and are merged with track data (tracki...ng the vessel’s movement’s), to build map images for reports. These reports are automatically (when online) generated and sent to the appropriate department, along with the attached image in order to provide additional information on the vessel's movements throughout that particular trip. This data is then used to generate meaningful insights, such as locations where officers are required to check more regularly, and provides context and visual representation on the activities that occurred. We created this application with the ensured ability to be operational even when offline. It is extremely important for the FRS to have offline capabilities, as officers/vessels could be out at sea all day (possibly multiple days at a time) and with this, inevitable issues could occur; varying from loss of reception due to poor weather or lack of network on the reef. The application is able to cache all of the local files it required and dynamically change between a local database on the device when out at sea, to a hosted database when back online. Essentially, officers can take the application, record their day/s work at sea and then upload it upon returning to their office.

15.01.2022 GP One’s core business includes the development of tailored GIS systems to medium to large organisations. We take pride in simplifying unnecessarily complex technologies and tools in order to minimise administration and maintenance overheads. Whether it’s implementation for the first time or modernising a legacy Esri Enterprise system to the latest and greatest, this is our bread and butter. Would you like to centralise an authoritative portal for all your corporate spatial ...data? Would you like to streamline your GPS data field collection so that from the field it can be made available live to management offices? Do you require location tracking functionality to monitor assets? Is there an appetite to integrate silo spatial datasets into an existing corporate business solution? Ask us how spatial technologies could improve your business today!

15.01.2022 Our team at GP One have developed and built an online application for the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Breedcow Dynama; designed for graziers and advisors to assist with key budgeting processes adapted to the special needs of extensive beef producers. These processes include comparing the likely profitability of herds under different management systems, elucidating forward projections, evaluating sales options (deciding what to sell when destocking or what to buy ...when there is an opportunity), and evaluating investments to determine the rate of return and payback period. Breedcow and Dynama programs are based on four budgeting processes: Breedcow+, Dynama+, Bullocks/Dry Cattle Trading and Investan programs. The Breedcow+ program is used to develop a representation of a current herd structure. The key outcomes of the Breedcow+ program provided to the users are herd structure, herd value, and gross margins. The Breedcow and Dynama online solutions allows extensive beef cattle enterprises to have the information they need to make informed planning decisions and improve the profitability and financial management of their operations.

14.01.2022 We are super chuffed that we were lucky enough to have worked with teams and individuals at the 2 Day JCU Design Sprint, that scored 2 of the 7 awards of the day. 40 teams of 6 IT Students, paired with private industry mentors like GP One to design "Innovative technology solutions for the disrupted and distributed workplace". It was a real pleasure working with the university, and it was great to see our teams take home a Team Awards for Most Inclusive Design & an Individual ...Award for Best Sprinter with divergent/convergent thinking. Count us in next year JCU! Gareck, Jordan & Jesse loved it!

07.01.2022 GP One Consulting has recently assisted several clients to take advantage of a powerful ESRI ArcGIS feature called Distributed Collaboration. Collaboration enables an organisation to expand the reach of its GIS content by sharing maps, apps, layers, and other content with other organizations. Collaborations can be useful in many situations, including sharing data between different ArcGIS Portals and sharing between Portals and ArcGIS Online. One particularly useful workflow ...enables selected ArcGIS Enterprise content that is contained and maintained behind an organisation’s firewall, to be made available publicly via ArcGIS Online. This configuration automatically synchronises the content participating in the collaboration to ensure the ArcGIS Online version is up to date, allowing the public to access current data that is maintained in the organisations internal enterprise environment. It does not require public access to be granted directly to the internal Portal system, and as such avoids additional costs and risks associated with this, including security and licensing implications (which are often significant). 06.01.2022 Did you know saltwater crocodiles can grow up to six meters long? Or that they can hold their breath underwater for an hour and a half? Crocodiles are an ancient and fascinating species, but they can also be dangerous. With the new CrocWatch app, ‘QWildlife’, reporting a sighted crocodile has been made easy. This app will allow the public and wildlife management staff to report sightings, receive crocodile warnings, investigate crocodile sighting reports and remove ‘problem crocodiles’. https://environment.des.qld.gov.au//croco/report-crocodile

03.01.2022 Our team member Jordan, has been working with the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy, assisting with The Abandoned Mines Project. The DNRME manages abandoned mines in Queensland, which consists of assessing and monitoring the risks of these sites, to eliminate risks to community safety and health, the environment and property. The Abandoned Mines database forms the physical framework for the risk assessment and prioritisation of remediation work. Our team her...e at GP One have a long history with The Abandoned Mines project, building technical solutions since 2012, to now taking the database from an ArcGIS Online platform (QSpatial Live) and migrating it into an ArcGIS Enterprise platform (Spatial Portal). Why migrate from QSpatial Live to Spatial Portal you ask? Well, in an enterprise environment there are several benefits, both database and non-database related. PostgreSQL (an advanced enterprise database) is now being utilised, allowing automatic ID assignment across layers. Non-database related benefits include automatic relationships based on spatial parameters, custom applications and scripts that are developed to work with ArcGIS Enterprise and run periodically to assign ID’s. With the help from our team at GP One Consulting, the Queensland Government are committed to minimising the risks of abandoned mine sites across Queensland, that poses impacts to the health and safety, the environment and properties of the communities.
