12.01.2022 We delight in supporting our local Mission Partner: Living Water Church. See below for an update from Matt Paterson, Lead Pastor at Living Water. ____________________ Like Grace City, we're an Anglican Church plant. We're based in Redfern and therefore we have a special connection with the local Indigenous community. We try and live out the truth of the Bible: that we are all one in Christ, and that God is the God of all nations. We love seeing people come to know Jesus, esp...ecially those who feel broken, downtrodden and a bit out of place in a regular church context. 2020 has definitely been an interesting year, with lots of highs and lows! Throughout all the drama of this year, we've tried to keep our focus on the important things - teaching the Bible, connecting with people, and reaching the lost with the good news of Jesus. There have also been a number of families at church who have had a really tough year and have needed support and pastoral care. A particular area of focus this year has been investing in our Youth Group. This global pandemic has reminded us that meeting together as God's people is truly a precious blessing! This has been a refining time for the church and has shown us what's really important. It was a joy to see how our church community was so keen to get back to church, following the lockdown. For various reasons, quite a few people from our church found it difficult to regularly tune into our Zoom services, so we had to work hard at overcoming that obstacle. During the initial lockdown, we made lots of phone calls, wrote letters, and did lots of pastoral visits, in order to remain connected with people and to encourage them in their walk with Jesus. We absolutely love our partnership with Grace City Church. Over the years it has gone from strength to strength. Although we are very different churches, we are united by the gospel and our love for the lost. Without prayerful and financial partners like Grace City, the reality is that our church wouldn't survive. As we move towards 2021 we would love your prayers. Please pray that we would keep preaching Jesus and that He would continue to save the 'unlikely candidates' by His grace. Please pray that we can find the right person to run our youth group. Also, our team has a planning day in 2021 to set some goals for 2021, so please pray for that. We thank God for our partnership with Grace City Church.
