Gainsborough looks fantastic and will be ready to welcome the first Prep - Year 6 students on Day 1 in January!

Not only will this funding benefit our students and teachers but it’ll also support thousands of jobs across the state ... I’m particularly proud of the focus on student wellbeing, which is one of our number one priorities. Here’s a snapshot of what the Budget means for Queensland schools: Access for every state school student to a psychologist or similar health & wellbeing professional Access to a GP at 20 state schools Homework centres at 120 state schools Free sanitary products at 120 state & non-state schools An extra 20 state schools to deliver kindy in rural & remote Qld More than 6,100 teachers and 1,100 teacher aides Implementing a paid internship program to attract aspiring teachers Support for the non-state school sector 26 state high schools will receive upgrades or new training facilities to prepare students for jobs in their region Planning for 16 new state schools 46 new classroom or admin buildings 26 multi-purpose halls and performing arts centres & 11 extensions/enclosures to existing halls 172 refurbishment and renewal projects Smaller upgrades

05.01.2022 The Hockley kids can’t wait to start at their brand new schools on the Sunshine Coast next year Cooper and Alex have enrolled at Palmview State Primary School while their little sister Keira has enrolled at New Special School at Palmview. Last week the Hockley family met foundation principals Nick and Andrew who are busy preparing for the 2021 school year. ... A combined total of around 180 students have enrolled at both schools so far. They're two of five brand new QLD state schools we're building that’ll open on day one 2021, with the other three at Dutton Park in Brisbane, Baringa in Caloundra & Coomera on the Gold Coast. 02.01.2022 This year, 536 Queensland students in Years 3-10 entered the Premier's Coding Challenge. The theme in 2020 was #cybersecureqld. The task was for students to create an app, website, game or animation to help Queensland improve cybersecurity The number of entries from rural and remote students increased to 68 this year - up from 43 in 2019. We also saw a rise in entries from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.... What a great achievement!
