14.01.2022 One Nation’s National Water Policy 1. As the population of Australia continues to grow, through immigration, we need to manage our water resources for the benefit of all Australians. 2. Future ownership of water entitlements/water allocations to be restricted to Australians or local government, State/Territory governments or the federal government.... 3. The ten per cent of surface water and twenty per cent of groundwater now in foreign ownership to be on-sold to those defined in point 2. 4. Water is an essential service. Treating water as a commodity fails to recognize the impact on rural communities. 5. We need to investigate ways to eliminate water commodity traders with no ultimate interest in the water. 6. We support the operation of desalination plants that will reduce the amount of water being taken from the Murray Darling Basin (MDB). 7. We support the establishment of a federal authority to determine the best way to drought-proof Australia, through a scheme known as the hybrid Bradfield Scheme. The purpose of the hybrid Bradfield would be to add water to the MDB and to create new irrigation areas on the western side of the Great Dividing Range, further north than the Snowy Mountains Scheme. A common sense approach to protecting one of our most valuable assets. October 31 is your opportunity to support One Nation’s water policy. 08.01.2022 "THERE'S NEVER BEEN A BETTER TIME TO TEACH IN QUEENSLAND" Anyone else seen this ad? Excuse me while I pick myself up off the floor. Take a look at my previous posts on our current education system in Qld. Put simply, it is NOT working.... August 15 - 14% of primary school teachers are male. August 18 - $8.6M in teacher's compensation claims. August 20 - Nearly 83,000 suspensions in public schools last year. August 22 - A third of our teachers resign within 5 years. August 28 - Response by Grace GRACE to One Nation's education policy. September 7 - Difficult kids, abusive parents. September 13 - One Nation's Education Policy. So if I listen to the ad currently being shown in the media, I would be led to believe that if you want to become a teacher, then this is the time to become one folks. How about we address the real issues here? How about we consider something really, really novel? How about we actually listen to teachers, parents, principals, children, parent groups and business groups and give them the opportunity to become a part of the solution, rather than trying to rabbit on about how sweet and rosy everything is in our education system? Or are we going to sit back and take this rubbish which is dished up to us and pretend all is good? Come on people, we need to stand up and say enough is enough. We owe it to our kids to give them the best education possible, not one which is slowly degrading our academic results. Our One Nation education policy was written in consultation with real teachers who have been there and done that. One was a Principal for many years. She has been at the coalface and knows how bad everything is at the moment. We care about our children and their future.
