12.01.2022 UPGRADE AT GRAFTON SALEYARDS It was great to be a the Grafton Saleyards yesterday with my Federal Nationals colleague Kevin Hogan yesterday and Clarence Valley ...councillors Richie Williamson and Debrah Novak to officially open the new truck wash and shower and toilet facilities that were co-funded by the NSW and Federal Governments, with a contribution by Clarence Valley Council. The previous single truck wash bay was demolished and replaced with two new bays, one suitable for B-doubles and the other for single-body trucks, with associated waste facilities. This is all about reducing truck wash wait times and in ensuring the productivity of the livestock and freight industries while at the same time improving outcomes for the environment. I’m delighted we have been able to help fund this project as part of our ongoing commitment to improving outcomes for the freight industry. The truck wash upgrade was awarded $319,000 by the Australian and NSW Governments under the Fixing Country Truck Washes program, and Clarence Valley Council contributed a further $11,500. Check out the beautiful cake below that was made by the wife of Council's saleyards manager, Chris Moran to celebrate the occasion! It was as delicious as it looked.

09.01.2022 GRAFTON SALEYARDS, NEW TRUCK WASH Great to open this today. I secured funding a number of years ago to demolish and rebuild the truck wash. State Government als...o contributed to the project. This is important for a number of reasons, including hygiene and bio security. Freight, transport and logistics are important drivers for our economy, anything that helps these businesses operate more efficiently is important. The previous single truck wash bay was demolished and replaced with two new bays, one suitable for B-doubles and the other for single-body trucks. Upgrades also included a new shower and toilet facility, an access road upgrade and new fencing and lighting. Great to officially open this new facility with Chris Gulaptis MP and Clarence Valley Council.
