What all the kitchens weve shared with you recently have in common is that they have room and task lighting. When planning your kitchen think of how youre going to use each space. By only using minimal room lighting you risk dark, dead corners or benchtops where the light is only behind you. Think of where you can place task lighting to get the maximum use out of your valuable bench space.

Installing a light fitting onto the timber can be distracting, instead consider accentuating the horizontal timber lines by recessing long profiles of our kiiko linear led into the ceiling. Lot of people select a profile that matches the length of their bench for clean continuous lines. But dont discount the impact smaller profile lengths can make.

It takes smart lighting (and phone charging) to the next level! 4 years of study was capped of last night as I exhibited my project I have been working on for the last few months at the QUT Design Festival. Introducing Zebrano, a smart bedside table combining wireless charging, a voice controlled @kiikoled light and fast charging outlets. This was handmade... from scratch with an exotic zebra wood. Developing this project from nothing more than an idea to a fully functional product was stressful, challenging and at times overwhelming but to sit back now and reflect on what I have been able to accomplish brings a tremendous sense of pride and gratitude.
