06.01.2022 14 Editions of "The World of Three Zeros" by the Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus have been published, see the book covers below. Professor Yunus o...ffers his vision of an emerging new economic system in his book ‘A World of Three Zeros: The New Economics of Zero Poverty, Zero Unemployment, and Zero Net Carbon Emissions’ now in 13 languages. #AWorldOfThreeZeroes #WrittenByProfessorMuhammadYunus #14InternationalEditions #13Languages
02.01.2022 Professor Yunus wants to impart upon us a sense of urgency. As much as we want our young people to grow up and become the leaders of a new civilisation, we are ...running out of time - they are running out of time. Wealth concentration is accelerating. Technology is disrupting jobs - leaving people young and old unemployed. Humans are viewed as units of production and our education system reduces them to job-seekers. The big problem is that businesses are designed JUST to make money and humans are trained JUST to get jobs. When instead, businesses can be designed to solve entrenched problems, and all humans are born entrepreneurs who can CREATE jobs. We aren’t just selfish, we are also selfless and we thrive by contributing to others as much as we gain satisfaction from helping ourselves. So what we need to do is encourage corporates and governments to support the young people who are creating social businesses. To change the paradigm so that we don’t just look to charity to solve human problems and government to deliver social services. Business has a role to play and institutions need to step up and contribute to the paradigm shift that will usher in A World of 3 Zeros: Zero Poverty. Zero Unemployment. Zero Emissions. And in doing so bring about a new type of capitalism. One that values generosity as much as it does financial gain. And in doing so address and reverse some of the problems caused by a selfish spirit and underestimation of human potential. See more
