21.01.2022 We are opening on Sunday from 10am (pokies and sports bar only). From Monday the bistro will reopen with a reduced menu with the seniors special, $12.90 lunch menu and schnitzel night continuing as normal. Unfortunately the 100 person limit is still in place so all previous restrictions still apply.

19.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE BINGO IS BACK. Bingo will be reopening on Tuesday December 1st. The government has advised the 1 person per 4sqm rule will apply for the fir...st 2 weeks of reopening. Because of these restrictions we will be limited to 110 patrons at a bingo session for the first 2 weeks. With this restriction in place, we will need to have the online booking system in place for these 2 weeks. Each session will have its own booking page. The links will be posted on the Grand Central Facebook page on Sunday November 29th, at approximately 12.00pm. Please understand you may not be able to attend your usual session time due to restricted numbers. We are still waiting for an update from the Government if we will need to implement the QR tracing. We will not receive this information until Monday or Tuesday next week. We will update once this in known. We have been working hard to make sure all the rules and procedures are in place to meet the new restrictions as outlined by SA Health and the SA Government. Grand Central is still open for business. The gaming room and pokies will be open as normal. Bookings are required for the bistro. Phone 8255 2555 to book your table. We are looking forward to seeing all of you again soon!

15.01.2022 This is Tim and he is the Assistant Manager here at Grand Central. In his spare time Tim loves tinkering with a Datsun that he has had for 20 years as well as spending time in his man cave perfecting the art of ping pong and darts. Tim has been known to enjoy a quiet bourbon as he sits in his spa (located just outside of his man cave) and contemplates life. Tim also loves his cooking and makes a pretty tasty BBQ ribs, as well as writing poetry and short stories. The thing Tim loves most about working at Grand Central is the banter with all the patrons!!

10.01.2022 UPDATED COVID RESTRICTIONS: Please note that from midnight Monday 16th November the Government has applied the following restrictions to licensed venues. A maximum of 100 people in the venue. Capacities back to 4m2 per person.... Maximum number of 10 people for group bookings. No standing drinking (indoor or outdoor) To comply with this Grand Central has had to Cap Bistro Bookings at 50 people. Bookings essential. Temporarily postpone Bingo sessions until restrictions are lifted. Temporarily postpone Friday raffles until restrictions are lifted. The government will be reviewing this in two weeks time. 06.01.2022 This is Cameron who works as a Bar and Waiting Attendant here at Grand Central Tavern. Cameron is affectionately nicknamed "Tuffers" here at Grand Central after Phil Tufnell the English off spinner who couldn't bat or field. Cameron is a cricket tragic who plays for the Northern Jets cricket club, as well as being in the SACA training squad. Cameron describes himself as an express fast bowler but our enquiries have seen his bowling described as "gentle medium pace". Cameron a...lways says the truth shouldn't get in the way of a good story. When Cameron first started working here 18 months ago he told us he was going to study to become a Doctor, which six months later became a property developer, to now wanting to become a school teacher. We look forward to hearing what comes next for "Tuffers" in his chosen career. Cameron is part of the "Laird" clan which is akin to royalty around these parts. His Uncle Roy is the legendary former Central District premiership coach and his grandmother Alison is a long serving coterie member at the Football Club, and one of our favourite customers. Cameron loves his horse racing and like some other staff members here he too is a long suffering North Melbourne fan. Cameron's secret talent is that he is a contortionist. It does not matter what part of the venue he is in when delivering a meal or pouring a beer he can still manage to twist his body and head into a position that he can watch whatever sport is on television. Honestly, it's amazing!!!! For a bloke who is absolutely petrified of his Mum Cameron's exhibits a fair bit of swagger about himself and fancies himself on the lip, trying to match it with some of the more seasoned campaigners around here. He tells us that the friendly banter between staff and customers is what he loves the most about working at Grand Central. Pop into the tavern for a meal or a drink and say G'day to Cameron some time!!
