24.01.2022 The Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) is understandably causing concern. These are unprecedented times and we wanted to reassure and reach out to all our patients and our community. As always, we are continuing to maintain the highest of standards when it comes to our infection control procedures, going above and beyond the required protocols. This has always been our number one priority - for the safety of all our patients and staff. Our day to day safety procedures extend to all areas of our practice including the reception and waiting room areas, which are regularly being disinfected. Upon arrival to the practice you will also find hand sanitiser available for your use. We also ask that you regularly sanitise your hands not only while at the practice but also outside as well. We have been in direct contact with every patient prior to their scheduled appointments. We are making this contact to ensure we cover all the necessary health questions prior to patients attending the practice to ensure safety of our community. We have been working in line with the Australian Dental Association and AHPPC guidelines, in fact going above and beyond what is required of us every step of the way. We have remained open for as long as possible to serve our loyal patients, however in line with the most curre...nt guidelines, Grange Road Dental Group will need to temporarily close our surgery as of Friday April 3rd. 16.01.2022 Unfortunately Bumps / Trauma to the mouth and teeth during this #StayAtHome COVID-19 period happen. . Please contact us and will help you assess the situation. (07) 3281 6666. . If a tooth has been chipped, broken and/or moved, it is best to take a photo and let us see.... . Generally bumps and cuts to the lip look nasty, but theres a good chance everything will be ok. . Initially, we recommend: - Colgate Savacol (or Listerine Zero for kids) for the first few days, a couple of times a day. Its not necessary, or recommended, to continue this long term. - Generally avoid the area when eating for the next few weeks. Softer foods will help. It may take up to 6-8 weeks for everything to completely settle. This is ok and normal. . We also recommend: - VERY GENTLE brushing of the area at the gums level with VERY SOFT BRUSH. Be very gentle at first, but as time goes on and the area becomes less tender ensure good brushing continues. We dont want plaque building up at the gum level. . PHOTO TIPS: You can take some photos for us to see and email to . Future photos can be taken from the same angles for comparison. . The example in the picture is for a FRONT UPPER tooth area. If this is the case, one family member can take the photo, and another family member can hold the lip up from both sides its a glamorous look but it will give us the best view of the teeth and gums. For a LOWER TOOTH, then take the second photo from a higher angle. . This will help us to see things clearly and compare with future photos. . We suggest taking the photo next to a window or where there is good lighting. . Also if you are taking the photo with a smartphone, press the screen where the main area of interest is (e.g. chipped tooth, bruised gum) so that the camera will autofocus on this area, before taking the shot. . Recently Carter made our day and showed us a cool app on his iPad called, Superhero Dentist, that he has been practicing with.
