21.01.2022 STM always creating cool projects for me to complete, and heres another After purchasing some models of their Kenworth K900 & Race Transporters, I was asked to do the 1:32 models to match the 1:1 which I did some years ago, with the main problem being able to reproduce the chrome STM logo in lines, striping & the car silhouettes... After using a thermal printer for many years at Signs Inc in Adelaide, the Gerber Edge for many years, and knowing they print chrome, I made one phone call hoping that Stuart from Star Stuff Group who do mainly packaging & labels could point me in the right direction and bugger me, they have a Gerber Edge and have chrome in stock All livery converted over to match transporter as close as possible, printed spot black with chrome overprint onto cast clear stock then all hand trimmed & applied to the models. Very fiddly job matching everything down to the black & white Kenworth windscreen banner, another STM one of. 19.01.2022 Gave the STM, Scott Taylor Motorsport sign a bit of a birthday today, with a fresh new layer of red translucent to replace the tired looking original. Removal of the existing red, as the black still had a lot of life left in it, given a full clean up ready for the new. Templated the outline for the red, then transferred that onto translucent vinyl, then cut out by hand, application tape then installed.... After installation a fresh coat of satin black metal paint applied to the sign box capping. Size being 10m long x 1.9m high. 07.01.2022 FRIDAY FLASHBACK to when I installed a 10m or 3 storey high digital print to the interior wall of this house at Cleveland Point with Damien & the guys @visualadditions. An English artist was hired to create a graffiti style picture of a lady, then digitally reproduced, printed and applied to the wall from a scissor lift than only just fit between the wall & stairwell with the lift at full height.... What an awesome addition to this already stunning home.
