25.01.2022 Alison Parker, over in Sydney, asked me to create this logo for her unique business combining a yoga studio with a chill-out relaxation space where avid knitters can come together. For those of you who dont know, yoga nidra is a specific form of deep relaxation, so Alisons word-play is very apropos.

25.01.2022 Just came back after cooking for 5 days at the wonderful Brookmans Food Forest (https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Food-Forest/151159498248228) property near Gawler the first weekend of the 2014 Permaculture Design Course - I think this is the 20th one Ive cooked for and its always so delightful - the food, the people, the process. This year I did a little 10-minute presentation to the participants on the food for the course, appreciating the bounty. The PERMACULTURE of food.

21.01.2022 Sometimes my work world overlaps in the most delightful ways here today with Charles of Face the World in a team building activity - making cheese! So food and administration/logistics come together today!

20.01.2022 Just back from 9 days up at Riverdell near Gawler for cooking two seminars 40 degrees outside, but the air conditioner in the kitchen was brilliant. 17.01.2022 Its been months since Ive posted anything here as the year flew but Ive been given some lovely new cookbooks for Christmas, and the garden has just produced a lovely little yield so basil pesto, stuffed zucchinis, and cool refreshing gazpacho are on the menu this week!

17.01.2022 Had the great experience of catering for a little wedding in the Adelaide Hills on the weekend an old stone barn, a rustic buffet, a beautiful bride & groom. Beautiful fresh food and a gorgeous natural setting go together so well!

16.01.2022 Final weekend of cooking for the Food Forests Permaculture Design Course this year involved making Spanakopita for 40! Mountains of silver beet & warrigal greens, a mighty big bowl of bright yellow free range eggs, feta cheese and other goodies, all encased in golden, crispy filo pastry. Always a hit, served with earthy sweet roast beetroot and generous garden salad. All done for another year!

15.01.2022 Been cooking again, and hanging out with some pretty groovy people up at the Food Forest near Gawler, as Graham and Annemarie Brookman run their 21st Permaculture Design Course and Ive cooked for all of them! Delightful hard work to feed 35 participants & faculty with mountains of wholesome food. Thanks to my lovely helpers Anna & Abby & Kirsty...

15.01.2022 Mandy Schmidt of Yoga Whyalla held her annual retreat at Melrose this past weekend, and I cooked for an amazing 18 people who loved their food!! Final lunch was rather delicious a roast vegetable salad with tahini-yogurt dressing, a big pile of pan-fried haloumi with fresh-squeezed lemon & parsley, and a brimming with freshness mixed leaf salad. All followed, of course, by the chocolate beetroot cake!

But I'm back at the wonderful Food Forest in Gawler cooking for this year's crop of Permaculture Design Certificate students and LOVING the experience. Such delight to cook and create using the harvest of this season... including bowls full of fresh juicy green basil pesto. Rustic Buffet catering is definitely one of my passions!

13.01.2022 Just back from cooking for a little yoga retreat just outside Strathalbyn a sweet crowd around the table at lunch and dinner, quiet in the mornings over breakfast. Rustic Glenbarr Homestead the venue, and me wearing the cherry-cherry apron my sister gave me feeling inspired!

13.01.2022 The rustic buffet moved to Port Elliot last weekend. I prepared gorgeous vegetarian soups, curries, and massive salads for a crowd of yoga women at the beautiful YHA. A few vegan treats too. So delightful to work with fresh, vibrant food. Retreat hosted by Sarah Read Yoga, and Rebecca Strugnell Yoga... and cooked for by me!

09.01.2022 Just came back from cooking for the second Permaculture Design Course of 2016 at The Food Forest near Gawler. 33 participants + tutors & cooks meant 40 mouths to feed each day, with fresh and abundant local garden deliciousness, as well as bartered food (veggies for bread at Adelaide Farmers Market), and autumn harvest preserved and then used in this beautiful spring weather. A wonderful group of people, 5 came all the way from India! Have never eaten so much broccoli in 2 weeks in my life, but hey! Thats what the garden had in bucketfuls!

09.01.2022 Just spent the weekend catering all-vegetarian delicious food for Sarah Reads yoga retreat at Glenbarr Homestead in Strathalbyn. Beautiful weekend and blissfully serene spot... cooking for the crowd was pure fun.

09.01.2022 You notice this page is called GD Design & Catering... this little cookbook was put together out of my catering side of things... the culmination of 20 years of cooking wonderful fresh food up at the Food Forest (www.foodforest.com.au) near Gawler, during their annual Permaculture Design Course. The book contains lots of salads, main courses, dips, baked goodies and sweets. All vegetarian. And some thoughts and stories about food, cooking, and life in general. It was a little labour of love for me. If you want one, Im selling them for $20 each

Ive traded my design services for Annies coaching services, and can vouch for her great skills - helping me to re-focus on some goals I have too. Definitely a win-win situation.

07.01.2022 Got to combine two of my loves last weekend, catering for the one-day yoga retreat that I ran with my colleague Anne... how fun to be able to experience both in one hit! Yummy thai noodle salad, and dessert of fresh watermelon and lemony-cashew-coconut blissballs, with cups of fresh mint tea. Refreshing and delicious - isnt that what food and life should be all about? :)
