23.01.2022 Sunday is a time for relaxation and rest if we need to. A time spent with family and friends, so precious, if we are fortunate to live close by. Sunday could be finishing projects, or starting projects. It is a day for whatever we are inspired to do and be. In a previous existence I dreaded weekends, I really didn't know or understand or have any idea what fun, or relaxation was. Life was dictated by others and circumstances I couldn't control. Thank goodness my life has ch...anged and I am in a place where I am beginning to understand what this can mean. I do think that Sunday can also be a time of planning, setting out our goals and ambitions for the week. Setting up action steps (or making meals, school lunches, whatever we need to make the week run smoothly). An ideal Sunday would be 70% rest and relax, sharing a meal, sightseeing etc, 30% getting ready for the week. Who agrees?
18.01.2022 I love this - it reminds me that I am in control, I can either create negativity or positivity, it is totally up to me how my day goes. Yes other people, what they say and do and their energy can impact me, but I can chose how I react. Today I choose gratitude, creativity and connection!
11.01.2022 Sometimes it is difficult to focus. We may be busy with a lot of tasks, jobs, roles and have many expectations that either we or others have placed on us. I have learned, that what we put in our body - food and drink can be a big contributor to how easy or difficult it is to focus. Try taking out gluten and or dairy for a few weeks and see how you feel, the results will likely surprise you. (Stay tuned on my other page for more info about that later in the week). So today, take five minutes, away from noise if you can, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and focus on what is important. We can quieten the negative inner voice and manifest positivity - the keys are consistency and focus.
10.01.2022 I have felt called to challenge myself, to learn some new skills, challenge my beliefs and how I interact and react. This is all part of personal growth, which in turn is part of self love. This took me a while to understand. Challenge being a good thing I mean. I think if we are in control of the challenge we set ourselves, that is a totally different thing than being challenged by others. Growth is a positive thing, it is all about understanding and loving self, understand...ing why we act as we do, and deciding if we want to continue to do the same things or whether maybe, making some small changes will enhance our lives. None of this has to be daunting. For example, just for today, watch what we say to others; is there any aspect of what we say or how we say it, that could cause harm? If so, how else could we interact that would remove the sting in our words? Another example, let's reuse scrap bits of paper for lists, shopping lists, notes, before throwing them out. Third example - can we walk one hundred more steps each day?
07.01.2022 Self care is not selfish...but what exactly is self care? Is it having a bath, a massage, getting our nails or hair done? Is it spending time in the shed, watching TV, playing video games, driving or playing sport? Maybe reading, jigsaws, craft, cooking or exercise is how you unwind or relax? Maybe it's meditation, or writing, or strenuous activity, a walk in the bush or the beach. There are so many different types of self care, it depends on what it is we need at the time. ... Maybe we are just too exhausted or worn out to know or care, or maybe we haven't had the opportunity to make time for self care for such a long time we don't know where to start. We may need to think about it for a while and decide intuitively, what self care is today, for us right now. Sending you positive vibes and openings for opportunities for self care this weekend.
