24.01.2022 Our Melbourne workspace is featured below; Schiavello developed our unique 'splat' tables that we designed to support workflow aspirations... We wanted a space that was more experimental; we wanted to walk the talk when it comes to our clients. We can’t suggest clients make dramatic changes in their work styles unless we are doing the same thing, and showing that it works.

23.01.2022 A great video from Lotus Doors showcasing the design of Leo Cussen Centre for Law in VIC. The design intent was to imbue a sense of community, enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing amongst their staff, student cohort and the Law Fraternity. The design approach respects the values, tradition and culture of the organisation while the deeply considered integration of signage into the built form creates a holistic language and seamless navigation for students, teachers and ...visitors to the new sophisticated workspace. 22.01.2022 What a magnificent view! This seven-level office building was designed for Crestwood Developments to engage and excite the residents of Sunshine whilst providing quality workspace to the major tenant VicRoads. The design draws inspiration from the robustness of Sunshine’s industrial heritage while buildings colours were inspired by a large eucalyptus tree that is of significance to the local community. The facade is sculptural, inspired by a circuit board wrapping all sides in white precast concrete. The wrapping facade flares out to the west and east to provide a sense of openness and activity on these important frontages for pedestrian activation

20.01.2022 We are pleased to announce construction has commenced on the new ACT Government Pre-school to Year 6 School at Throsby. The new $47 million School will be ready to take students for the 2022 school year with capacity for 450 students and 132 pre-schoolers. The project will provide an excellent opportunity for local jobs and enhance the community of Throsby with a state of the art teaching facility embracing contemporary pedagogies. 19.01.2022 An interesting and rather charming lens was placed on Botanicca in the latest issue of @indesignlive . "The idea of hospitality design is generally realised in the realm of the service industry; cafes, restaurants, bars and hotels are, of course, the mainstays of the sector. But think for a moment about hospitality design as hospitable design; the places and spaces that offer generous amenity, public access, flexible usage, connection to nature and respect for place. It may be extrapolating the idea to claim that a large commercial building within a Business Park can be hospitable but think again. Botanicca 3, located in Burnley and just seven kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, is Gray Puksand’s latest commission and is every centimetre a hospitable project, built for people to inhabit with ease."

15.01.2022 A perfect time to reflect on some workspace design as we begin to get excited for the return to the office. The new David Jones and Country Road headquarters is enduring, elegant and simple enough but made more beautiful by the seasonal retail activity, colour and movement applied across the top of the space and the light filled atrium. @davidjonesstore @countryroad ... @peterbbennetts @tandembuilding See more

12.01.2022 Our Senior Associate Kelly Wellington discusses vertical expansions as an uplifting option post-pandemic on The Urban Developer. Download the complete white paper here: https://bit.ly/3jWx1KO

12.01.2022 Senior Associate, Kelly Wellington, explores the value of 'vertical expansions'- particularly in the current climate - on the The Urban Developer. "The extent of the impact of the pandemic on the economy remains to be seen, but we need to continue development activity, continue investment, and deploy capital to ensure growth. While people remain cautious of large long-term investment, a lower financial risk approach might be for owners to consider value-adding to existing assets, including solutions such as building extensions."

10.01.2022 The revitalisation of 65 Pirrama Road in Pyrmont breathes new life into the building overlooking Darling Harbour, re-establishing it as one of the precinct’s most desirable commercial destinations. The future of 65 Pirrama Road will proudly continue the building’s legacy as one of Mirvac’s greenest assets. However, this is more than just a sustainable building. The refurbishment of this commercial asset is set to elevate the address through human-focused design solutions that create an emotional connection between the building users and physical space. This is the key to the succession of the building.

08.01.2022 Our design for Prahran High School featured on Sacred Spaces last week. Partner, Stephen Turner, and Architectural Graduate Kara Thapar were interviewed alongside Slattery, as they walked through the vertically built school. The design was developed with leading educational advisors and students to promote contemporary pedagogy. If you missed it, head to our Vimeo to view the episode: https://vimeo.com/graypuksand

01.01.2022 Australia’s hospitality sector has grown steadily over the past decade, bolstered in no small part by a rising ‘foodie’ culture and surge in people wanting to establish and operate cafes, bars and restaurants. The demand for training has therefore increased and specialist service industry training providers around the country have responded accordingly. The Gordon in Geelong has long been one of Australia’s major regional skills providers, delivering training across multiple ...vocations including some of the most respected culinary courses in the country. We’re excited to be working with The Gordon, transforming their campus environs through re-visioning their existing hospitality training facilities to provide a more connected, activated and immersive campus experience.
