23.01.2022 Poppy Zooming. A great discussion this Saturday. Lisa’s PowerPoint was so impressive. Almost as impressive as her DIY poppy.
23.01.2022 Catherine Truman : COVID 19 Reaching Out Art made for the Ruling Party. To those that voted against any assistance to the Australian Arts sector last week. PLEASE tap for sound... it’s not too much to ask considering... your decision has placed artsts, Australian arts culture in great peril. 21.01.2022 Dear all, But especially residents of Thebarton. Today I only became aware of the extent of the planned removal of some Plane trees on Phillips St Thebarton.... Many of you in that area may now have a letter from council in your letterbox. I am annoyed as well as disappointed about the way that this has occurred, especially as we still do not actually know the amount of trees that are presently earmarked for removal as the map/plan that has been provided is very unclear, however it appears to be in the area of 11 I have already spoken to our City Manager and our General Manager Urban Services about this who are now more than aware of my feelings on this issue as well as the lack of consultation that has occurred. I will be pursuing this issue with Council Administration until a suitable outcome is reached. I do support the work being done in Phillips St/West Thebarton Rd BUT not at the expense of this many mature trees and not without the appropriate consultation. In the meantime I ask that you to let Council know loud and clear your feelings on this matter by email: [email protected] phone: 8416 6333 Please copy my email into any email you send to council regarding this ([email protected]) AND please send my details and Facebook page details to residents with the same concerns. Obviously I am more likely to be able to sort this issue out if I am aware of the extent of the community's concerns of this issue, and to pass this information onto Council
20.01.2022 A day in the life of Gray Street Workshop.... Wow. Here we are in February 2019 and we’re really settled in and all the partners are totally absorbed in projects. The new space is proving really successful. The experiment has paid off. It’s wonderful...we all love it. Basically we’ve created a more purposeful environment dedicated to our individual needs as artists and makers. After nearly 35 years of continuous evolution we feel really ‘at home’.
20.01.2022 Happy Birthday Catherine Truman!!!!

17.01.2022 This is how the GSW gang are staying connected every week during COVID19 Mentoring each other is the silver lining to this strange cloud. Each week one of us speaks about their practice... can be any aspect and you can also ask for any level of feedback. That person also sets the dress code. #graystreetworkshop #lovethesepeeps #virusbusters @louilamosca @lisa_furno @sue__lorraine @catherinetruman @woori.han.jewellery #contemporaryjewellery #australiancontemporaryjewellers #whataweirdworldeh
17.01.2022 Wouldn’t be Christmas without Gray Street dress ups!!! This year the Plague was our inevitable theme. Lots of love to you and yours from all of the ever-expanding Gray Street family! Many HOs!
16.01.2022 May 29, 2020. GSW shoulder-pad zooming. This week, as usual began with our family photo, deliberations on how to fit on the screen and keep the kids skittles up your jumper. Then down to the business... Topics over the ensuing few hours included: Has anything you’re made, success or failure, ever surprised you? The duration of surprise. The role of control and expectation in making. Have you ever needed and shown courage in your practice? ... ( we all agreed that challenge... moves us every single day). Are we the makers or keepers of collections for others? The objects and the narratives we collect and how we interact with them. Not a bad way to spend a cold and rainy afternoon. #graystreetworkshopsunitedbraincells #lovethesepeeps @louilamosca @woori.han.jewellery @sue__lorraine @lisa_furno @catherinetruman #contemporaryjewellery See more

12.01.2022 Eyewear zooming! Saturday May 23rd 2020’s discussions based around simple questions and themes like...why did you choose to be a jeweller? (CT is still pondering whether she actually ever did!) and the difference between courage and bravery... and whether the red suction rings left by Lisa’s goggles were contemporary jewellery, perhaps a tribute to the one and only @tiffanyparbs
11.01.2022 Earring zooming. This week’s discussion topics: influenceRs, strength of family, colleagues, teachers, motivators, spirit-builders. So wonderful to unearth and re-discover these powerful connections anew. @louilamosca @lisa_furno @woori.han.jewellery @sue__lorraine @catherinetruman

05.01.2022 Neckpiece zooming. Great discussion this week: reoccurring thoughts and experiences whilst in the thick of making; ethics of cultural practice; consistency of concepts and ideas over the life of your practice; and most memorable sales(!!!)
03.01.2022 Toilet roll zooming. Life during COVID-19. We discussed how we’ve each experienced the ‘lockdown’ and the unfolding legacy, the deepening of personal and family relationships, the uncertainty of the future for artists in Australia, the huge importance of our connection with each other and the expansion and compression of time. Our Zoom meetings have enabled us each to remain anchored and listen and contribute and touch base. We will continue, something really worthwhile is growing. We live on! PS Sue’s Bluetooth toilet roll mouse is a winner!!! ( it even has batteries) #graystreetworkshop @graystreetworkshop @louilamosca @lisa_furno @woori.han.jewellery @sue__lorraine @catherinetruman #lifeaftercovid19 #toiletroll #zoom #zoomlife
