25.01.2022 There’s a lot of these guys around at the moment. If you find a chick out of the nest ideally find a safe place nearby so mother bird can still find/feed it. Failing that they can be hand reared but mother’s always the best option. #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #perthvets #babybird

25.01.2022 A big thank you to everyone for embracing our new online booking system. Just a reminder you can book online via our website, Facebook page and a google search. Theres still the option to call the clinic of course. Why the cute photo? Why not! #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #perthpets #petsofperth #vetsofperth #bookonline

24.01.2022 Generous clients vegetables + rainy day = pumpkin soup for dinner! #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #perthvets #petsofperth #pumpkinsoup

24.01.2022 We would like to reassure all our clients we are open for business as usual. At the clinic we are undertaking additional cleaning/sterilization of high traffic areas in order to minimize risk of any possible coronavirus contamination. In return we ask if you are feeling unwell or think you may be at risk of carrying the virus please proceed with extra caution. Many thanks and looking forward to a corona free future! #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #perthvets #vetsofperth #pethealthcare

23.01.2022 Currently topping the St Francis cuteness chart is Lola. Going to be hard to beat! #stfrancisvethospital #petsofperth #perthdogs #perthlife #vetsofperth #pugsofperth #perthpugs

23.01.2022 These didn’t last long. Blown away by our generous clients once again. #stfrancisvethospital #stfrancisvethospitalperth #perthlife #vetsofinstagram #vetsofperth #dogsofperth #catsofperth

21.01.2022 Throwing sticks playing fetch is great fun with your dog but it can go wrong. We regularly see cases where over enthusiasm leads to the stick going too far into the mouth damaging the throat as in the photo below. Our advice? Stick (sorry for the pun) to smooth objects such as balls or frisbees. #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #perthpets #petsofperth #vetsofperth #dogsofperth #perthdogs

21.01.2022 We have a new online booking portal which replaces our old system. Its super easy to use, requires no prior registration and can be accessed via this Facebook page, our website or directly from a google search. Book away!

21.01.2022 Riley the wonder dog one year on. She came to us after being trampled by cattle at her owners farm. She lost a leg and had a lot of other serious injuries. Such a great dog. #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #perthdogs #vetsofperth #dogsofperth

21.01.2022 Should I feed my dog bones? Well it depends. Lovely Annie here is a great example of why its a hard question to answer. Some dogs will swallow large chunks given the chance and this can cause problems. Fortunately this story ended well without surgery but thats not always the case. In short, if you want to feed bones, make sure they cant be easily broken up. #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #petsofperth #dogsofperth #vetsofperth #perthdogs

20.01.2022 Hot dogs can be great but they can also be not so great....Yesterday we saw our first case of hyperthermia, or over heating, and it was only 25 degrees. Dogs are extremely bad at controlling their body temperature so during the warmer months take extra care. Flat faced breeds are at extra risk but any dog can be affected. This summer lets stick to the edible variety! #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #perthdogs #perthdogsofinstagram #dogsofperth #perthvets

19.01.2022 Couldnt agree more!

18.01.2022 Pets Meat Suppliers the best place to get your pet food in our area!

18.01.2022 Wow, were very lucky having such generous clients but today weve been extra lucky! Straight from the garden/oven. #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #petsofperth #vetsofperth #perthpets #freshvegetables

18.01.2022 Did you know the Scottish fold cat breed originated from a white Scottish barn cat called called Susie? Well you do now! Pretty high on the cuteness scale. #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #catsofperth #scottishfold #vetsofperth #perthvet

18.01.2022 As cases of COVID 19 have dropped off we are starting to relax our clinic policies in line with state government guidelines. We are still asking all clients to wait outside until one of our staff contacts you however limited numbers are now allowed into the building. Thank you to everyone for being so understanding and patient over the past few months. Were very much looking forward to further relaxation of social distancing guidelines. #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #perthpets #petsofperth #vetsofperth #perthvets

18.01.2022 What was that? Other than teeth, ears are by far the most common issue we see in dogs. Why? A combination of the increased popularity in floppy, hairy eared dogs - floppy means poor air circulation, hair means potential clogging with wax/debris - and allergies. This is a classic infected, hairy ear in a floppy eared breed before and after cleaning. Its paramount to get the initial and ongoing treatment spot on or life long ear issues are guaranteed. #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #perthvet #perthpets #perthdogs #dogsofperth

17.01.2022 In these tumultuous times heres a cute cat photo to brighten your day. On a serious note we continue to be open as usual. We will keep you posted on any changes. Stay calm and healthy! #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #perthpets #vetsofperth #perthvets

17.01.2022 Its been an interesting year for naughty dogs eating strange objects. Weve had needles, corona bottle tops, ear plugs but this was a new one, a stack of cup cake cases. Maybe stick to the actual cakes next time? #stfrancisvethospital #petsofperth #perthlife #dogsofperth #naughtydog #vetsofperth #perthvets

16.01.2022 This weeks cuteness overload. The Japanese Chin was the breed of choice of Japanese Royalty although the breed is thought to have originated in China. #stfrancisvethospital #dogsofperth #perthvets #perthlife #japanesechin

14.01.2022 If anyone has lingering doubts, cats and dogs cannot contract the human covid-19. You may have heard conflicting stories in the press regarding this issue. There are cat and dog species specific coronavirus infections but these are not covid-19 and they cannot be passed on to humans. What confuses people the most is the fact than cats and dogs can be vectors of covid-19. That is if a contaminated human sneezes on or touches a pet then the virus can potentially survive on the ...SURFACE of the animal for sometime. This applies to anything a contaminated human touches or comes close to not just pets. There is absolutely no need to change your behaviour around your pet. It is only humans who need to be cautious if they feel they might be carrying the virus - but this is exactly the same as if you had a common cold or the flu. #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #perthvet #perthvets #vetsofperth #coronavirus

14.01.2022 Interesting but no reason to be alarmed with the extremely low rates of human infection in WA.

12.01.2022 Tonights new government rules highlight the need for extreme caution with regards to coronavirus spread. We are striving to offer all clients our usual services however to do this we ask you to adhere to the points above. PLEASE PHONE AHEAD OR BOOK ONLINE IN ADVANCE TO ALLOW US TO STAGGER CONSULTATIONS APPROPRIATELY. Thanks in advance for your cooperation! All at St Francis. #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #vetsofperth #perthvets #perthpets #petsofperth

12.01.2022 I know we keep banging on about dental health in pets but its probably the most common problem we see now. This is a classic example before and after treatment. This is no fault of the owner just a hazard of being a modern pet. #stfrancisvethospital #petsofperth #perthlife #petdentalhealth #vetsofperth #perthvets

09.01.2022 Ouch! This prickly bladder stone was removed from a small dog. Like people some pets are very prone to bladder and kidney stones. It always surprises us how stoic these pets are as it must be uncomfortable! #stfrancisvethospital #perthvets #vetsofperth #perthlife #petsofperth #dogsofperth

09.01.2022 As things slowly get back to normal clients and pets can enter the practice as usual but we still need to adhere to the 1.5m social distancing rule. As always if you feel unwell or have been traveling interstate or overseas please take the relevant precautions. Thanks for your patience over the past few months! #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #petsofperth #vetsofperth #perthvet #dogsofperth #catsofperth

08.01.2022 Thanks Vanessa were doing our very best during difficult times.

05.01.2022 Lest we forget. We are open this morning but closed on public holiday Monday.

05.01.2022 Antibiotic resistance continues to worry us. The table to the right shows which antibiotics kills the bacteria isolated from this patient. S means susceptible so kills the bacteria, X means ineffective and I means works a little. As you can see we had no good options left to us in this case. #stfrancisvethospital #vetsofperth #perthlife #perthvets #dogsofperth #perthdogs #catsofperth #perthcats

04.01.2022 Bones part 2......another example of what can happen when a dog eats a little too much. These crushed bones made it most of the way out then stopped and formed something close to concrete! With a little help everything ended well but it highlights again how bones and dogs sometimes do not mix well! #stfrancisvethospital #perthdogs #perthlife #dogsofperth #vetsofperth #perthvets

04.01.2022 Happy Easter to everyone. Our holiday opening hours are as normal except we are closed Good Friday and Easter Monday. Our Covid-19 precautions are still in place. 03.01.2022 As the coronavirus situation is changing on a daily basis we will now be sending out regular email and social media updates from the clinic. If you know someone who may like to receive email updates but have not registered their email address with us please spread the word. All we need is a valid email address. All updates will also be posted on facebook and instagram @stfrancisvethospital. Please like/follow the clinic if you havent already done so. The clinic is currently ...open as usual. We are following all guidelines re additional cleaning and sterilisation of communal surfaces and social distancing. In return we ask all clients to also follow recommended guidelines re potential coronavirus transmission. For those who feel they need to avoid person to person contact entirely we are happy to come out to your car and collect your pet for the required treatment in the clinic removing the need for you to enter the clinic at all. To make this process as efficient as possible please let us know in advance if at all possible. On return of your pet it is very important you still adhere to recommended guidelines regarding hygiene as pets can still potentially harbour the virus on their body surface for sometime. This is extremely unlikely but caution is advised nonetheless. Another alternative is to have a friend or relative bring your pet to the clinic. We wish everyone the best during this period and please do not hesitate to call the clinic if you have any queries. Many thanks all at St Francis. #stfrancisvethospital #perthlife #perthpets #pethealth #vetsofperth #perthvets

02.01.2022 Another wildly cute pet photo and why not we all need a bit of a positivity at the moment! Just to reassure everyone the clinic is open as usual we just ask everyone to take all recommended precautions when visiting us.
