20.01.2022 We all tend to use negative indicators as a measure of our Business performance. In Safety and Quality particularly, we include the number of injuries, number of LTIs, non-conformances, physical or environmental damage and so forth. These indicators come to us accidentally (no pun intended) because they are unplanned events that have caused us some pain. So we acknowledge them, work out a series of fixes and we record them. ... In many cases these are our only formal indicators and unfortunately show only the negative side of our performance. But. have you ever considered using positive indicators? Positive indicators can include: number of site inspections completed; number of emergency preparedness exercises undertaken; number of training sessions completed; the number of site inspections completed; number of workers who have up to date training; percentage of correctly delivered services positive feedback received from clients and so forth These indicators show a positive aspect and will help improve our safety and quality. They provide evidence that our indicators are not all negative and there have been efforts made to improve our performance. Negative indicators only list what has already happened. Positive indicators will help to prevent negative events from occurring Food for thought....

These include a ready market place or business demand, an ability to provide value for money, ensuring consistent quality and timeliness of work and a shared understanding of the work.... 13.01.2022 After our soft launch in mid-November, we are very pleased with the positive feedback and first impressions weve received on the launch of our business. The next phase in our development will be to actively market our service offerings and capabilities early in 2016.
