25.01.2022 CAR SERVICES MECHANIC TYRES TOW TRUCK... Guys if you can find a more honest and up front mechanic, I want his name. Youssef owner and operator at his own work shop ALLSTAR MECHANICS today got me out of trouble with his expertise, while it is only a temporary fix, he has got me on the road, where I need to be to keep my business going. I blew a radiator hose that's impossible to fix unless the engine comes out. Possibly the Walsh plug. The place where the radiator hose blew was at units we maintain. A resident who we often have a chat with tried helping, retired now he used to be a aircraft engineer. God love him he diagnosed the same problem, our mate is 87. Next stop we need a tow truck, so I give OJ a call from OJ tyres. This guy has changed my tyres for years, he runs a cheap and fast service like no other. I said OJ I need a towy can you help. Straight on the phone he gives me someone he uses and trusts, what a champion. Thank you OJ. So I call the towy, never even bothered asking for a price because OJ recommended him. His name Khodr, owner operator of a tilt tray, he was there in one hour. So from Parramatta we go to one of my best mates Danny G's place in Yagoona so he can see if he could fix the problem. Unfortunately not, diagnoses the same. These guys are gold. Final wash up. OJ's help - 1st class Old mates help - 1st class Khodr - $70 Danny's help - 1st class Youssef - $30 temp fix Myself - on the road again Thank GOD, thank ALLAH that we are blessed with good people.

20.01.2022 TODAY'S TIPS SPEED For those that maintain their own yards, next time when cutting your lawns, try cutting the lawn at 3/4 pace compared to the speed at what you usually do it at. Your lawn will look better than ever. ... HEIGHT Cutting your grass to short has many disadvantages. For starters your killing yourself, then killing your machine and finally your affecting and in some spots, killing your lawn. We all have regular routines to cutting our lawns, so by giving it a concrete finish, it is the worst you could do. The best way is to cut the lawn at a height where, from a distance of about 10 metres, a persons foot disappears. Your lawn will look healthier, very comfy to walk on, will look neat, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, this is how you stop weeds from appearing. Have fun.

05.01.2022 TODAYS LESSON 1. Cut your grass every 2-3 weeks in summer. 2. By letting your grass grow, your giving time to all the other bad grass to settle in.... 3. This lawn is looking good with the cut so far, only because of the height we cut it at, a height where you don't want any further damage to the lawn. 4. From now on this lawn should be cut every 2-3 weeks to repair the damage that has happened. 5. Why put strain on your machine, your back and your lawn. 6 - 7. Whilst cutting this grass, even though the grass is still green, I could tell it lacked sufficient watering, by the rustling noise as the blades where cutting. Cutting a healthy lawn you should only hear the noise from the mower. Healthy grass is moist and won't add to the noise. Water means life, so on hot days end, your grass needs a drink. Best time to water is just before the sun goes down. Don't drown you lawn. Mother nature will always fill bear ground with weeds, so to avoid this, offer a drink. 8. While its not really noticeable, a health lawn gives out a pleasant smell compared to a unhealthy lawn, just ask the birds.

03.01.2022 SMALL WORLD Yesterday we were on our way to do a few jobs in Quakers Hill, about 30kms from home. We stop at the Metro petroleum station to fill up on fuels and after Deb runs in to pay, the guy says would you be able to do the roadside grass and garden area. We agree on the charge and complete our work. I go in to see him and accept payment and after a chat he wants us permanent, good news. I ask him where he lives, he says you probably haven't heard of it, Revesby. I tell him what street, he says Beaconsfield. He freaks when I tell him we only live around the corner from each other. I land another winner, he says help yourself to whatever you want from the shop. What a champion.
