23.01.2022 Over recent weeks we have been back doing our club member only handicap shoots and have got a little behind on sharing results. Here are last weekends. The weather was overcast and cool with very mild breeze. Congratulations Deborah on taking handicap honours. Quite a few club records and therefore PBs for archers.

23.01.2022 We struck some nice weather today with lovely sunshine and a tricky breeze to keep the archers honest. Gavin Jervies just beat his handicap today with his new bow to take out 1st place on handicap. Several archers established new club records, well done.

22.01.2022 Winds gusting at 25 to 30 km/h, rain, sunshine, more rain, more wind, some sun, sounds like it's time to go indoors. Another bonus to shooting indoor was the sweet calming tunes provided by AC/DC. Only three archers dared to register for the day's round, with Gavin Jervies taking top off the bow. It looks like more club records might've been set today. Will have to wait until iScored comes online to check.

21.01.2022 A strong turnout to our club handicap round today, Congratulations Tim Roberts on the handicap win, well done Tim, Bailey Jervies, Deborah Jones and Gavin Jervies on improving or equaling your handicaps. A few of us were frustrated we couldn’t do the same! Top off bow compound Brendan Jones, top off bow recurve Deborah Jones. For those playing at home - the wind was so strong we didn’t think we could screw the butts down outside so we shot a long range indoor round of 50/40/30m on the 80cm face - this series of rounds always seems to elude some of us in getting a good score.

20.01.2022 Interesting video on how Easton arrows are made.

17.01.2022 GHA are closed for all activities, this accords with what our community are tasked to achieve so we can be an interacting community again. Stay safe, do all the right things and we can all have a great time when community sport can resume.

15.01.2022 Somewhat steamy conditions and for the last two distance we got a very light breeze to provide some archer comfort. Well done the three archers who bettered their handicaps and congratulations Bailey on the handicap win. Top off bow recurve Deborah, top off bow compound Brendan.

14.01.2022 Peter Henning on his way to the Silver Medal at the State Clout.

10.01.2022 Today’s shoot results and in addition Gavin Walker (ABA) joined in for his first target round and a score of 772. Conditions today were a little unpleasant but Gavin J and Marshall both had some mojo and bettered their handicaps, well done gentlemen.

10.01.2022 Hurray, with today's health announcement we can pull a return to archery plan together for our club members. We will need to wait for the details to be updated by DHHS, Sport and Rec Vic, AV and then a plan can be put to our landlords for acceptance. It is likely that field archery at Cavendish will be how we start up again for our club members. So watch this space!

10.01.2022 Entries for the Diamond Pile (afternoon session) on Sun 16 May are now open.

10.01.2022 From today's Spectator.

09.01.2022 Today’s members handicap shoot was last minute transferred from outdoor to indoor (the luxury of having the Southern Hemispheres longest indoor archery range). With the roaring winds and downpours coming through in waves we had a light breeze in the shed, huge variations in light and it was coldddddd! 6 archers registered and arrived to shoot, 3 Archers for the first time shooting 70m (well done) and archers shot rounds that were at or less than their maximum distances (with the exception of Bailey who was determined to shoot 70m). We created an Indoor long Canberra which we have called Indoor GHA 70/900.

09.01.2022 A heads up on our nearest ABA clubs likely shoot arrangements 2021

08.01.2022 Mark Keane, Gavin Jervies and Denise were ‘gold hot’ yesterday with their shooting and made the most of the fantastic weather to get well over their handicap. Congratulations to each of you on the contracting handicap and to Mark on the handicap win. Top off the bow recurve Deborah Jones, top off the bow compound Brendan Jones. A handful of new club records also. Brendan better do some practice or the new compounders will start overtaking his score! Well shot all.

07.01.2022 Results from today’s club round, well done Gavin on another pounding of that handicap, Brendan snuck just above the handicap threshold.

04.01.2022 Well, we have lucked in with some very pleasant sunshine for our first target shoot. Well done Gavin Jervies on the handicap win. Nice scores all round really, a weary crew those last few ends, more bow fitness needed. A swag of club records shot for the round, well done all.

04.01.2022 On this session of Doing Sport Differently, we are introducing the Proud 2 Play e-learning resources, developed in partnership with South West Sport supported by VicHealth. Steve is joined by Ryan Storr from Proud 2 Play and Deborah Jones from Archery Victoria.

04.01.2022 Today’s club handicap was shot in very high and gusty winds, squally rain and rare burst of sunshine. We were pleased our new system of screwing down the guys to the butts worked so well. The distance was halved but the face shrunk to keep things safe. We had a visit from the boys in blue to check out we were doing all the safety requirements for Covid and generally safety, they were happy. Congratulations Tim on handicap honours in demanding conditions.

02.01.2022 Tricky winds and variable light conditions for today’s club handicap shoot, our first 144 arrow shoot for quite some time. Congratulations Steve Burke for the handicap win and top off the bow recurve. Top off the bow compound was Brendan Jones. Several archers established new club records and some bettered their handicaps.

01.01.2022 A few new club records from todays Club Round which we shot in increasingly windy and wet conditions. The moving 12 month handicaps are showing through now in the improvements as archers are becoming more active again after not much shooting in the past 15 months
