12.01.2022 Last Sunday, Bushcare legend Bob Ward took a group of 12 locals on a tour of Fairfield Indigenous Flora Park. The park is one of the last intact patches of Cumberland Plain Woodland in the Fairfield area and is usually fenced off to protect the precious bushland inside - but we got a chance to explore it! GSLN Chair Bev Debrincat also gave us a talk on the importance of planting for small bird habitat and how we can improve it in our local areas. The walk-and-talk follows on... from a planting of 2400 trees and shrubs on the Fairfield Hospital grounds by Greater Sydney Landcare Network and Landcare NSW. The Hospital planting patch and the Indigenous Flora Park are connected by a bushland corridor along Orphan School Creek. We love giving people opportunities to give back to our local bushland. If you're keen to help green your local area, contact us at [email protected] to find out how you can get involved.
