23.01.2022 I will be out of town from Dec 29th to 2nd Jan and again from the 14th January til the 3rd of Feb. I will be working all other days! So if you need some computer help call sooner than later as I'll be away on my much over due (12 years since my last one) holiday!

21.01.2022 New web site nearly finished. I haven't been happy with my current one for many years but like most workers their own work comes a distant last behind doing customers work. I mostly do 'Band' web sites but do business and club sites as well. Call or email me for a quote. Don't get ripped off paying over $2000 for a web site when I can make you one just as good for around $800. Less for 1 to 3 page sites.

20.01.2022 Great Lakes Online is NO LONGER A DODO AGENT. I have parted ways with them and will never do business with them again. I have gone back to the company I was with before changing my customer base over to Dodo. It was great for about 5 years but something major is happening there and I don't want to be assossiated with them any more. I will still be providing the best possible prices on ADSL2 and NBN (once it's active in your area)... Any of my current dodo customers who are out of contract that wish to join me and continue to receive the high level of support you have always had from me please do not hesitate to call or email me. I strive to provide the best service for my customers and wont let anything stop that!

20.01.2022 In my line of work I help with people that have been scammed and conned out of money via their computer. I get at least 10 calls myself from these assholes just like most other people do. Most weeks I have to sort out some poor old pensioners PC after they have let them in... The common ones that we all seem to be called about are the 'Telstra', NBN, Taxation or Federal Police (usually just a recorded voice) scams.... This week I am sorting out a PC for a lady who got scammed... out of $2000 a year or so ago (I recovered some of her money but was fairly much impossible as she bought Apple gifts cards and gave them the codes... 2 hours on the phone with Apple Security Dept and they basically said 'sorry not our problem...' This weeks one is a new one to the others I deal with. The lady was called up and they said they were the Special Crimes Department and she had to go to the bank and put $15,000 over a few bank accounts, by doing this the police would be able to 'trap' the bad people.... The lady went to the bank and luckily the bank stopped her from doing it! Then told her to call me to clean it all out. Luckily she hasn't lost any money but is very upset and the assholes have put a password on her PC so it's not accessible... This is password program... If it was just the windows password I could crack that easily... So my Saturday night will be spent trying to recover her dead husbands photos that have no backup.... Folks, please make sure you know your elderly family members and friends know that EVERYTHING IS A SCAM! Trust NO ONE! Telstra, the bank, the tax dept or the police will NEVER call them, If there is a genuine issue with their internet connection they will just cut it off and wait for them to call, they will NEVER call them to say there is a problem... It's not just the elderly that get fooled by these pricks. There is no shame in being conned but there is shame in not making sure your Nanna knows that these nasty people are out to con her....

19.01.2022 Windows 8 is out and will be on all new Great Lakes Online Computers unless Windows7 is prefered by the customer. I've been checking it out and it is a lot like Win7 in some ways but has a 'tablet-like' start-menu interface that will surely confuse some users but easily worked out with some patience.

If you are with Bigpond and I can't save you a money on your monthly ADSL and phone bills I'll buy you a beer!
