25.01.2022 Small Paraklisis to the Theotokos

25.01.2022 Great news everyone! We now will have HD streaming - we look forward to bringing you clear quality streams starting tonight at 6:00pm!

24.01.2022 Today, His Eminence Archbishop Makarios recounted in his homily a prophecy of Saint Cosmas: The time will come when the devil will enter the houses and his hor...ns will be on our tiles, the Saint had said. This prophecy, as the Archbishop explained, is now known that was a reference to television. And this, children are educated mainly through television. We leave the children in front of the television, the Archbishop remarked, and unfortunately they learn through television what religion is, what Christ is, what the Church is, what life is, what death is, what love is. We are also educated by television, without realizing it, the Archbishop pointed out elsewhere. He highlighted that nowadays the situation has worsened due to the excessive use of the internet, which we do not only have in our homes, but also in our pockets. Twenty-four hours a day we have the internet with us, he noted, and this is a great temptation. I do not live in a utopian world, he added meaningfully, acknowledging that it is not possible for the Internet to come out of the life of modern man and especially of the life of young people. There should be a good purpose in everything and above all there should be Christ in everything. Where Christ is, he added, there can be no sin. - Source: OrthodoxTimes.com

21.01.2022 Today is the Feast of St Phanourios. We often ask for his help in finding "lost" items. Let's also ask for his help to not loose: Our sense of self worth, Our confidence, Our patience, Our sense of empathy and compassion, ... Our moral compass, Our pursuit of justice and truth, And above all, our faith and love for God and our fellow human beings. Blessed Feast to all! See more

18.01.2022 Brothers and Sisters, We were greatly blessed to celebrate the Dormition of the Theotokos over the weekend with His Grace Bishop Iakovos and clergy throughout S...outh-East Queensland. You might be asking, what is our biblical understanding relating to the falling-asleep of the Mother of Jesus Christ, our Lord? "The Holy Scriptures tell us that when our Lord was dying on the Cross, He saw His mother and His disciple John and said to the Virgin Mary, "Woman, behold your son!" and to John, "Behold your mother!" (John 19:25-27). From that hour, the Apostle took care of the Theotokos in his own home. "Along with the biblical reference in Acts 1:14 that confirms that the Virgin Mary was with the Holy Apostles on the day of Pentecost, the tradition of the Church holds that she remained in the home of the Apostle John in Jerusalem, continuing a ministry in word and deed. "At the time of her death, the disciples of our Lord who were preaching throughout the world returned to Jerusalem to see the Theotokos. Except for the Apostle Thomas, all of them including the Apostle Paul were gathered together at her bedside. At the moment of her death, Jesus Christ himself descended and carried her soul into heaven. "Following her repose, the body of the Theotokos was taken in procession and laid in a tomb near the Garden of Gethsemane. When the Apostle Thomas arrived three days after her repose and desired to see her body, the tomb was found to be empty. The bodily assumption of the Theotokos was confirmed by the message of an angel and by her appearance to the Apostles." - Source of text: Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America
