25.01.2022 Wellness Breaks are pranayama and meditation sessions with Manshant, max 15 minutes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am. Free for all. Enrol through the Western Riverina Community College.

25.01.2022 WEEK FOUR - FOUNDATIONS Our first class this week is ‘chair heavy’ and foundational in nature. The early portion of the class works on improving proprioception and activity from the base (feet) upward. Lots of preparatory work is done to awaken the legs, hips and spine, refining alignment especially when the body is stiff. This sequence helps to inform subsequent action in other standing poses and balances. This class also includes inversion preparations and a supported backbend for those of you with more yoga props available. Enjoy the process

24.01.2022 You’re in our thoughts @sheena.brown.astrologer at this exciting and special time. Classes wrapped up quickly last term and we were not able to give you a more ceremonious show of gratitude and well wishes. We are ever so thankful to have had you with us at Green Belt Yoga over the last couple of years and are really looking forward to hearing what adventures the future holds for you and your family @sheena.brown.astrologer ABUNDANCE and Gratitude..... Can yo...u look around and see that abundance is all around you? Can you see that the universe will provide, exactly what you need and that the feeling and mentality of "lack" is only in your mind? When we talk of abundance the first thing that often comes to mind is financial or material abundance. But there is more than one aspect to feeling abundant. Spiritual abundance for one, the ability to tap into the deepest most creative parts of self while trusting and allowing the universe to provide for you... I look around and everyday I am reminded, even in isolation, that I have an abundance of LOVE all around me. My partner and daughter, the love we all have for our yet to be born addition. My mother and the many deep and wonderful women in my life. Food!! We live in a country that does have more that enough even if at this moment we are being conditioned to think otherwise. Nature. Everything in nature is a constant reminder that we have more than we need... To live in a way that looks at what we have as "enough" and "more than" allows us to open our hearts to the people who may actually need our help, love or support. We are less "me" focused and more "we" focused. We live in a culture of more. Just simply more. To feel good, to have worth, you need to have more. Along this path I have learnt that less can actually be more. When you take away the too much that blinds the mind and corrodes the soul to the truth of our individual and collective abundance it actually become clear. We TRULY have so much See more

23.01.2022 WEEKEND MOVES Our second online class this week is a fluid, slow flowing practice to warm and open the hips, upper back and sides of the trunk. With repetition, and as you gain experience, this sequence can be practiced swiftly to generate more heat and vitality. All classes really are yours to sculpt over time and can be used to inspire your own ongoing self practice. Enjoy! PM if you would like some guidance, personalised instruction or to trial an online class.... x Katie

22.01.2022 WEEK FOUR - LENGTH & DEPTH This is our last class in the 4 week online subscription at Green Belt Yoga. It is a strong sequence with a full range of standing poses that actively lengthen the legs and spine. A fluid practice that can be approached without props (optional block). Some prone back bending poses are also included followed by core strengthening poses and pilates based exercises to bring firmness and stability to the hub of the body. I am really grateful to have had... so many of you with me on my first online teaching journey, both local friends and those further afield. I hope these early classes will build on your yoga experience and help you to develop an ongoing self practice. I hope they can also provide some ease and balance in your time at home. x Katie

15.01.2022 WEEK THREE - GENTLE RELEASE Our second class this week is a great wind down and complement to vigorous exercise or vinyasa style yoga. Props ahoy! Supported asana variations to help release tension in the hips, upper back and shoulders. Slow paced and introspective.

10.01.2022 This class feels important to share for the good for our loved ones and communities. It contains 4 simple restoratives in a sequence designed to aid corona indu...ced exhaustion and breathlessness. Essentially a lung support class, it can also be used to combat stress and anxiety, while promoting freedom in the breath and health in the organs. Restorative yoga deeply recharges our batteries at the best of times. At the worst of times, when even simple movement is too exhausting for the system, it can feel like a life-saver. Please note this is not medical advice. If you are currrently ill, please seek the care of a doctor. And please share. This is a solid, tried and tested practice. The sound is a little hissy. My apologies. I felt the information was worth having out there hiss or no hiss. See more

07.01.2022 Brilliant conditions up here for filming this morning what a gorgeous day!

06.01.2022 WEEK THREE - DYNAMIC EXPRESS Our first online class this week is a shorter (35min) practice that will stir up some energy flow and heat when you are shorter on time. Variations and repetitions of surya namaskar (sun salutations) are offered as well as optional inversions. Swift, dynamic movement is a vitality booster for both body and mind especially in the first half of the day. No props needed other than some support in savasana. Keep practicing

04.01.2022 Hello all I wanted to put together a longer post to share my (rough) plans going ahead this year. As with all yoga studios sadly we needed to close our doors about 8 weeks ago. As my partner is an essential worker, my own circumstances have shifted dramatically and I have needed to be available full time to facilitate learning and caring at home for my kids. I must say, although this has been overwhelming at times, overall it has been a positive experience for our family. T...he timing of school holidays was a little blessing in that I took the opportunity to film several yoga classes and offer them as a package to work with at home. Online classes can’t possibly compare to physical classes but are really useful when you already have a background of yoga practice and are experienced enough to safely apply and follow the instructions of the teachings at home. I really enjoyed the making of these videos and hope to do more in the future. The 8 class package will continue to be available to all indefinitely- please pm if you wish to purchase this bundle of classes. For now, family commitments are strong and I can’t put in the time needed to continue filming the online classes. My hope is that once school goes back, I can resume (and refine) my online teaching. Our family are moving at the end of this year, so it has always been a dream of mine to offer digital classes and stay connected to friends from Leeton and my other homes over the years. Unfortunately, with the impact of Covid-19 and our move, it won’t be a viable option to maintain and reopen the studio at a later date. This is of course, terribly sad and not how I’d anticipated events this year. I hope to catch up with my students when the timing is right but may I say how much I miss seeing you on and off the mat and how I have truly valued your support and dedication to learning with me over the years. I believe I have become a better teacher through you all and have learnt a great deal from you. Yoga is forever an experiential tool and state of being. Please keep in touch with me in the meantime. My posts may be less frequent but I am here if needed

04.01.2022 Aromatherapy Our sense of smell is so powerful when it comes to our memories and experiences of places that are special to us. My lovely friend @onepointoffocus used to drop lemongrass oil in the bathroom of our yoga teacher training studio (back in 2003), is that right Lisa? I still associate lemongrass with feelings of vitality, freedom and expression and the joy of that time in my life. I felt emotional today burning the delicate and woody Japanese incense that I have al...ways used up at the studio. Normally it stays there for classes but of course, they are not possible at the moment. I wondered if anyone was missing the smell and it’s association with Green Belt Yoga? I was first introduced to this subtle and beautifully crafted incense while working at the Yoga Warehouse in Sydney. Thank you to my boss @_shantiyoga for finding such lovely products! It’s not an easy one to find online but here is a link to an Aussie site I saw today: https://www.kasasagi.com.au//shoyeido-incense-and-/page/2/ Anyway... not trying to encourage you to jump on the online shopping but wanted to share the details in case you had a deep connection to the fragrance and were missing it.
