22.01.2022 For our older athletes looking to take their athletics journey beyond little Aths, Athletics Victoria have just announced they will be offering heavily discount...ed AV Memberships to encourage little athletes to trial seniors athletics for their remaining AVSL competition rounds (7, 8, 9, 10), as well as AV State Championships and Specialist Meets. Great news is Diamond Valley has a fantastic senior team who will also waive their Club fee and are ready to help our older littles athletes make the transition to seniors. U9-10 Race Walks from 8:00am All age groups please see attached program for time of first event. Note: U6 athletes will participate in Discus skills and U7 athletes will participate in the Discus event (parent helpers will be required).

16.01.2022 General training is free to registered financial athletes on Monday’s and Wednesday’s. This year athletes will need to book a place to help us schedule coaches ...and activities. Links to these activities will be published weekly. We will also have some strength training activities such as boxing, taekwondo, pilates and yoga which will also required athletes to secure a place - stay connected to ensure you don’t miss out! General training bookings are open for this Wednesday, 25th November, 2020 4:30pm to 6:00pm at Willinda Park. To ensure we comply with our Centre’s Health & Safety Requirements and COVID19 Protocols Wednesday’s training is capped to 80 participants. Athletes must be financial members to attend. 14.01.2022 Who’s ready for the new Swedish Relay? Tomorrow, Sat 6 February 2021, Centre Relay Championships will replace regular competition at Willinda Park. Unlike NMR R...egion Relays, there is NO NEED to register - just turn up! Centre Relays are your chance to participate in a relay event and see what the fuss is all about - ALL financial athletes will have the opportunity to participate in 2 relay events (4x100m and the new Swedish relay 1x100m, 1x300m, 1x200m and 1x400m). Set up from 7:30am with marshalling commencing from 8:30am sharp! (First event takes off at 8:45am) - Make sure you arrive 15-20 mins earlier to check in with your Club. Check out our program of events and Officials and Athlete information below. Note: U6-U7 Ontrack athletes will also get to enjoy some relay fun - adapted to promote skills and understanding of relay events. Refer to the program for details and times. Oh and there’s no need to pack lunch. We will have a bbq going throughout the event selling $2.50 sausages in bread for hungry athletes and officials Remember: Masks are currently required when entering the Clubrooms. Also, don’t forget to check in via our QR code when you arrive. See you trackside soon!

12.01.2022 Thank you to EVERYONE who attended our 'Return to Aths' LIVE information session last night. We had a fantastic turn out with 147 viewers, 40 questions and 78 c...omments! We are putting together a FAQs document to ensure we cover any questions we didn't get a chance to answer during the event. 09.01.2022 UPDATED CHANGE to Sat 28 Nov (Week 2) - CEREMONY POSTPONED Unfortunately, the Wurundjeri people have just confirmed that they are unable to conduct a tradition...al smoking ceremony tomorrow. Opening ceremony activities will now be part of our 15 Dec award celebrations (details to follow soon). This weeks program will remain UNCHANGED and will go ahead as planned. Competition START times: U9-10 Walks from 8am U6 On track from 9am to 10am U7 On track from 10am to 11am U8-11 Program from 8:30am to 11am U12-16 Program from 11am to 1pm Trial athletes: Please ensure you arrive early, bring confirmation of your registration and check in at our Centre registration desk in front of our Club rooms. Returning athletes: If you have registered before 8pm Thursday, you will be able to collect your competition bib from your Club tent. Go Team DV!

09.01.2022 Have you sewn on your Coles patch? All athletes must wear the correct Club uniform when participating in our weekly competitions. Why? Uniforms not only make yo...ur child feel part of the team, but they also ensure we are able to record your child’s results, and meet LaVIC uniform requirements. So what is the correct uniform? When competing at Diamond Valley athletes wear their Club uniform top, a name bib, Coles patch (sewn above LaVICs logo on top right shoulder), black shorts* without pockets or logos, socks and appropriate footwear ie. runners or spikes. *Shorts with pockets are safety concern and if an athlete has pockets in their shorts they must be sewn or taped shut or they will be unable to participate in events. What uniform does my child wear when competing at Region and State events? All athletes must wear the correct Diamond Valley uniform when representing DV at Region and State events. While the name bib, Coles patch, black shorts without logos or pockets and appropriate footwear remain the same as the Club uniform, the Diamond Valley uniform must be purchased from our online shop as a separate cost of $30 visit our uniform shop https://shopdesq.sportstg.com/mobile/index.cfm If you’re in search of a secondhand top visit our Facebook group or speak with your Club during competition. 04.01.2022 The sun was shining and it was fantastic to see so many smiling faces down at the track today for our mid season return. Not too many action pics this week but I think you’ll all agree it’s was great to return to little Aths at Diamond Valley! Go Team DV!

04.01.2022 How many volunteers does it take to make little Aths fun? A lot. Well, definitely less than 500 especially under COVID Restrictions, however, the saying ‘it tak...es a village’ absolutely applies to little Aths. We’re really lucky at Diamond Valley to have many skilled volunteer Chiefs and Officials, many who just can’t pass up the opportunity to share the joy of family, fun and fitness despite having adult children who’s little Aths journey is a distant memory, yet it’s our parents and guardians who get the opportunity to volunteer as helpers and share in the rewarding experience and seeing their children develop important social and motor skills during our weekly competitions. THANK YOU to all our volunteers for the amazing job you do at Diamond Valley Little Aths! Oh and the vests are washed and ready for Saturday! Go Team DV!

With 229 financial athletes, 92 trial athletes and participation at around 90% ou...r COVIDSafe Master Plan stood the test as Team DV took to the track and delivered a bumper start to our 2020/21 season! The atmosphere was so AMAZING and it’s official family, fun and fitness is DEFINITELY BACK at Diamond Valley! THANK YOU to all our amazing chiefs, officials and parent volunteers on an outstanding effort today - community spirit was humbling and our Clubs and Committee couldn’t be prouder! Go Team DV!
