25.01.2022 Easter Egg Hunt at Reedy today. The children were so excited to find the hidden eggs!!! So beautiful to see the children sharing and helping each other find the eggs around the yard. What fun :)

24.01.2022 Jeans for Genes Day On Friday we celebrated Jeans for Genes day and wore our jeans. Thank you everyone who participated to support us in raising awareness for the Childrens Medical Research Institute to help find cures for childrens genetic diseases.

24.01.2022 Cooking Experience To elaborate on the childrens interest in imaginative role-play in home corner, Miss Paris and Miss Haylee set up a cooking experience. The children took turns measuring and adding the ingredients into the bowl and then mixed them together. They then enjoyed them for afternoon tea .



24.01.2022 Future Champs Future champs are back up and running each Wednesday! The children love being able to learn new gross motor skills and practice demonstrating various skills and movements. Everyone is so eager to participate and it is wonderful to see the children encouraging each other and supporting each other during the lesson. Great TEAM WORK!!

23.01.2022 Outdoor Artists The nursery took advantage of the beautiful weather outside and got painting. The children used their fine motor skills to dip the paintbrush into the paint and paint the paper.



22.01.2022 Culinary Classes The children have loved participating in culinary classes with Miss Michelle! They have been learning a lot about different cooking techniques, food safety, personal hygiene and self-help skills.

22.01.2022 Snip Snip Snip The Toddlers have been working on their fine motor stimulation as they worked on their cutting abilities. Educators supported the children during this exercise by demonstrating how to hold the scissors and guiding them in the motion. The children have done an amazing job of demonstrating how to hold the scissors and the strength in their fingers to push the scissors closed.

22.01.2022 Counting To support the children in their counting skills and recognition of numbers. The educators set up the movable hands and some pebbles. The children would look at the visual representations of numbers that the hand was showing and count the pebbles to match. It was great to see everyone working together

22.01.2022 Blast Off! Pre-Kindy has been learning about space over the last few weeks and after reading a story about rocket ships, created their very own! In small groups, the children used the knowledge from reading the story, recycled boxes and craft materials to create a class rocket ship. Altogether the children practised their glueing ability using a paintbrush and worked on developing their hand-eye coordination. While participating in this group experience, the children were encouraged to use their imagination and share some planets to land on once the construction of the rocket ship was complete. Great work Pre-Kindy it looks out of this world!

22.01.2022 Spontaneous reading activity Often the children will spontaneous have a particular interest in an activity or resource and today the children were specifically interested in the storybooks. A few of the children sat with some of their peers and investigated a variety of books. Educators loved seeing these small groups and observed as the children created bonds with their peers and explored the visual features of the storybooks.

21.01.2022 Diwali Festival of Lights Diwali is a traditional Hindu event held each year and to celebrate the cultural event we had Show Time Stars visit our service on Monday to perform a show! The children loved the show as they not only got to watch but also perform and get involved.

20.01.2022 Clean Teeth & Nutrition The kindergarten children have been learning about dental hygiene and nutrition. they have been discussing the link between the two and why they are important. The children learnt about where foods come from, the effects of different foods and even some interesting facts.to elaborate on their learning the children used the whiteboard and toothbrushes to practice brushing their teeth.

19.01.2022 Group Time The children in the Nursery have been participating in group times each morning and have started to really develop their ability to focus, contribute and engage. The children loved watching and listening to Miss Michaela sing nursery rhythms using the puppets.

18.01.2022 Class of 2020 On Thursday we celebrated our Kindergartens graduation. It was a beautiful evening filled with delicious food made by our centre chef, performances by the children and lots of photos and tears. CONGRATULATIONS to all our Kindergarten children we wish you all the success!

18.01.2022 Trick or Treat On Friday we celebrated Halloween, all of our educators and children came dressed in their spooky or not so spooky attire and had a fun day of Halloween crafts, activities and games. We hope everyone had a great weekend, don't forget to brush your teeth

16.01.2022 Happy Easter Families, don't forget that we are closed on Friday the 2nd April and Monday 5th April for the Easter holidays. We hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe long weekend and we look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday

16.01.2022 Pet Week Last week we celebrated pet week throughout the centre. The week was focused on sharing with each other our furry family members, learning about how to care for them, sharing memories and developing awareness of the different types of animals we have as pets. It was great to see all of our families bringing in photos and we even got to meet some of the childrens family pets .

15.01.2022 Problem Solving Pre-Kindy has been developing their problem-solving skills recently using a variety of activities including puzzles, matching and building activities. Today the children practised their problem-solving skills while working on their colour and shape recognition when completing the pattern block flash cards. The children gathered together on the mat for the activity and were excited to work together with their peers to show each other their skills and creation.

15.01.2022 Remembrance Day On the 11th we all wore red to pay our respect to the soldiers and all involved in war. The children learnt about our history and why we pay respect, we had group discussions, watched historic videos and participated in various arts and crafts activities to display in our rooms. It was a beautiful day

14.01.2022 We hope all our families had a wonderful Easter break and didn't eat too much chocolate! Our Easter egg hunt was a success on Thursday! All of the children took their hand made Easter baskets and ventured around the yard, finding all of the Easter eggs. We look forward to hearing about everyone's Easter adventures

14.01.2022 Pre-Kindy investigated the importance of body parts and how they move and help coordinate them to walk and balance. Yesterday they focused on static balance which is the ability to hold a stationary position with control; the children were encouraged to Freeze or Be a statue. They explored their body parts and then put their skills to the test. The children were encouraged to hold their arms out to help balance and coordinate their ability to complete this morning obstacle courses. The children strengthened their complex gross-motor and movement patterns during these experiences.

13.01.2022 Hearts of Purple Bins We are supporting our local community charity, Hearts of Purple and you will see in our foyer 2 big purple wheelie bins. The funds raised from the recycled goods will go towards domestic violence and any donations will be passed on to families in need. We ask that we place any 10c recyclable bottles/ items into the bins & the donated items such as clothes, toys and products into the other. ... Thank you for helping us support our community

12.01.2022 NAIDOC Week This week we have begun celebrating NAIDOC week by learning about the culture, creating traditional artworks, reading stories and participating in traditional activities. We also have Lindsey our local Aboriginal community member coming in next Wednesday to share Dreamtime stories and do traditional face paintings.

10.01.2022 Are you ok? Yesterday we all wore yellow to celebrate are you ok day. We took time to discuss caring for ourselves, for others and how we can show kindness, forgiveness and appreciation for our friends, family and people in our world.

10.01.2022 Easter Celebrations All week we have been celebrating Easter. In each room the children have been doing various activities related to Easter, we have had Easter egg hunts, hat parades and even had some chickens visit our centre! It was a great week full of so much fun! Happy Easter everyone

10.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day To celebrate fathers day we set up a photo board of all our children and their dads and had a breakfast stop in the foyer. It was great to see all the smiles this morning and thank you to all of our mums for helping us create a special morning by sending through such beautiful photos

10.01.2022 Nursery Rhythm Dress up day On Wednesday we had a dress-up day to extend on the childrens reading interest across the centre. It was great to see all of our staff and children come dressed as their favourite nursery rhythm characters .

08.01.2022 Class of 2020 On Thursday our Kindergarten class celebrated their graduation. It was a wonderful evening, the children performed for their parents, enjoyed some delicious food made by our centre chef, took photos in our photo booth and concluded the night with celebration cupcakes. CONGRATULATIONS to all our graduates we wish you all the success!

08.01.2022 Wash, Wash, Wash The Nursery children have been learning about hygiene and their self-help skills. To elaborate on the children learning the nursery educators set up a washing experience and the children washed their babies while discussing the body parts, toys and even themselves

08.01.2022 NAIDOC Show To conclude our NAIDOC Week celebrations from last week we had Lindsey our local Aboriginal elder come to our service and tell traditional dreamtime stories, play the didgeridoo and paint the children's faces. The children love when Lindsey visits our service what a great morning it was!

06.01.2022 Memory & Focus The children in Pre-Kindy participated in a "Whats missing? Memory game." Firstly they investigated the objects keeping them fresh in our memories. They then were encouraged to close their eyes as Miss Haylee removed an item for. The children had to identify what item was missing. The exercise boosted the childrens concentration ability and had them thoroughly engaged.

06.01.2022 Name writing We are so proud of our senior children continuously practicing their fine motor, concentration and resilience skills when writing their names! They are all progressing so well with both name and letter recognition and writing.

06.01.2022 Wobbly Jelly The Nursery children got messy and used their fine motor skills while feeling the texture of the slippery jelly. The children pulled out some of the toys that had caught their attention, smiling and showing their friends what they had found.

06.01.2022 Sink or Float To extend on one of the childrens adventure from the weekend, Pre- Kindy conducted an experiment -sink and float. The children helped gather a few objects to test whether they sink or float in a bucket of water. The children firstly were encouraged to share their prediction on each object, either stating if it would float or sink. Each child had a turn to drop in an item of their choice and watch for the outcome.

06.01.2022 Fluro Day On Wednesday we had a fluro sports day at Reedy Creek. All of the children and educators dressed up in their bright attire and had a fun-filled day of sporty games. There were running races, obstacles, tunnel ball, fluro painting and many more. What a fun day!

06.01.2022 Melbourne Cup Yesterday the children and educators came with their fascinators and bow tie or ties. Some of the children got creative and dressed up using the dress ups. Everyone looked so fancy and we had a great time watching the race and cheering them all on

06.01.2022 Watering the plants To elaborate on our gardening week the Kindergarten children have been collecting the rainwater using their sandpit bucks. When they have collected enough water they are going around the centre and watering the plants. They are learning about sustainable practices including how to reuse water and look after the environment.

06.01.2022 Bees The children in Pre-Kindy have been learning about Bees. They have been reading stories, learning about their body, their habitat and what they produce.... honey. To elaborate on this the children made some honey sandwiches to explore the texture, smell and taste. During this experience, the children also learnt and developed self helps skills and fine motor skills.

04.01.2022 Doctor, Doctor As an extension on the childrens learning on health, well being and hygiene, educators put out some doctor and health role play equipment. During free time the children have been acting as doctors and really enjoying using their new knowledge.

04.01.2022 Musical Fun To extend on from listening to the Trumpet on Remembrance day, Pre-kindy had a musical lesson using a variety of different instruments. They practised using them, learning about their sounds, differences and how to play them. They even tried to make a song together!

04.01.2022 National Recycling Week Throughout this week we have been participating in national recycling week. The children have been learning about the importance of recycling and how they can contribute. They learnt through hands-on activities, group discussions, arts and crafts and technology. We hope to continue improving our sustainable practices and the communities

03.01.2022 Gardening The nursery children have continued with their interest in the garden after gardening week and have created their own little garden for their outdoor area.

03.01.2022 Reading The Nursery have been loving small group reading. The educators have been using the conversational reading approach where the educator reads the story to the children (they do something) and then encourages the children to engage with the story in return (they do something) asking them to see, show and say.

03.01.2022 Dinosaurs The children have recently been discussing dinosaurs and engaging in various types of imaginative play. Miss Ciara decided to elaborate on the childrens interest and support the childrens learning and discussed the topic during group time. The children investigated the size of the T-Rexs foot, first, they made hypothesis on the size and then using the size of their body and their shoes to find the answer.

02.01.2022 Caring for the babies The baby dolls have been shown a lot of love in the nursery over the last few days! They have been cuddled, shushed, feed their bottles, read stories, carried around the room and pushed in the pram. The children are making great connections with their world and imagination

01.01.2022 Outdoor Natural Collage The nursery children enjoyed the outdoor wether and used some of the leaves from around our yard to make a collage. Together they felt the different textures, scrunched the leaves to hear the sounds and looked at the different shades.

01.01.2022 Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Children Day On Tuesday the 4th of August we celebrated Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Children Day. The children across the rooms learnt about culture through activities, discussions and art experiences.

01.01.2022 Making Lunch The children in Kindergarten have been practising their fine motor and self-help skills by making their own sandwiches for lunch. They did so well using the utensils, practising hygiene and using their manners during the experience and wow there was some yummy sandwiches made!
