25.01.2022 We're back into harvest mode. After a VERY wet week we have now had a few good days of fine weather so we are back in the paddock picking up our macadamias. This small push harvester will be in action this week. As long as we get a few more fine days we'll have the tractor out with the bigger (and quicker) harvester later in the week. You can see from this pick that this year's maccas are looking to be a good size. All the more to eat.....

24.01.2022 For all of you that dont live in the Scenic Rim but LOVE the food from the Scenic Rim there is a new delivery service called Scenic Rim Farmbox. All your favourite meats and vegetables can be ordered via this method and, of course Greenlee Farm macadamias. This came about because this years Scenic Rim Eat Local Week event has been cancelled. A local business, with support from Scenic Rim Regional Council has started this distribution network for Brisbane, Ipswich and the Gold Coast. 13.01.2022 Its been a big few days for the boys from Eden Trees Arboriculture Services at Greenlee Farm. The macadamia trees have had a much needed inner haircut. Chainsaws and chippers going hard. That means light and air can circulate within the tree and ultimately have better tree growth. This in turn means more blossom and ultimately more nuts. 11.01.2022 Today marks the one year anniversary of the start of the Sarabah Fires in the Visit Scenic Rim . A lot has happened in that time. We can be thankful for the many Fire Brigades Queensland Fire and Emergency Services - QFES Canungra Fire Station Beechmont Rural Fire Brigade that came to our aid. We are also so grateful to our neighbours who all pitched in however they could over the week of devastation. An upside of the fires was the reconnection with neighbours... community.... After patiently waiting for rain it did eventually come, and the land has commenced the healing process. The wildlife of the area suffered badly and little bit by little bit they are coming back. The koala population has definitely suffered. Our macadamia harvest has been poor this year-partly due to drought and possibly an impact on the flowering at time of fires. Now we look forward to improving the health of our trees. Now as we reflect on the past 12 months we can be thankful that all our infrastructure survived and our livelihood can still continue. We can count our blessings considering what happened in Beechmont and Binna Burra.
