22.01.2022 Happy National Wattle Day! Originating in 1910, National Wattle Day now marks the first day of Spring and an opportunity for us to celebrate everything this golden spray of flowers represents for Australia. From sprigs of wattle being sold during the First World War to raise money for the troops, to inspiring the green and gold colour of many sporting uniforms, to becoming officially gazetted as Australias national floral emblem in 1988 (Acacia pycnantha), the Wattle has a ...place in many Australian hearts. The 2020 Golden Wattle Award goes to Australias front-line workers during our fight against COVID-19. Wed love to see photos of the wattle growing in your garden or on your daily walk to celebrate the hard work of front-line staff.

01.01.2022 Congratulations to local Werribee residents, Jess and Dwayne who were the latest winners of the My Smart Garden - My Isolation Garden photo competition. They ...felt like the ultimate suburban farmers, or at least until the owners caught 'Speckles' the chicken and took her home. Wyndham City recently became a participating Council of My Smart Garden.
