21.01.2022 Opening our courts We are now able to open the courts up to Members via Book a Court. The courts are open every day from 7am to 11pm. We no longer need supervisors as the limits imposed previously have been lifted. I am sure that you will join me in thanking those committee members who offered their time to act as supervisors. Singles and Doubles play is now possible, as long as groups remain a safe distance apart. Tennis Victoria has advised that, in their opinion, that... is 1.5m. The club rooms may not be used at this stage, except for using the toilets. Masks need not be worn during play. I look forward to seeing you on court! Mark Boon President

20.01.2022 Return to Tennis.... again! Dear Member, On Sunday your committee decided to partially re-open our tennis club for coaching and social tennis from Monday 19th October 2020 and we have been working to achieve this as soon as possible.... Our re-opening has to be in line with the relaxing of restrictions by the State Government, and, guidance from Banyule City Council and Tennis Victoria. We had our COVID Safe plan signed off by Banyule today, so we can now officially re-open! I would like to thank your committee and our Head Coach, Michael Collins, for their work in preparing the club for our staged return to tennis. Many hours have gone into development of a COVID safe plan, grooming the courts, cleaning the club rooms amongst other things! Hopefully, we will be able to restart some competition in the near future. Initially, we will be opening our courts to financial members via Book A Court. The good news is that your last year's membership is still active! There are some rules we must follow: All activity must be on court - you cannot wait in the club rooms or on the benches outside. Masks must we worn while not playing. Toilets only will be available in the Club. Please maintain a 1.5m distance while attending a tennis activity. Wash your hands before and after play. Bring clothes and/or hand sanitiser to use the book a court pin pad and gates for entry. Your court key will not open the courts. Book a Court is the only way we can adhere to the restrictions. Every player must sign in either by scanning the QR Code sign and fill in the online form, or, use the book by the club room door. Singles play only or doubles from no more than 2 households The current directions require that we have a supervisor present when people play. At present the courts are open and supervised as follow: Monday: 9 -11am, 3 -8 pm Wednesday: 3 - 9pm Thursday: 2:30 - 8pm Friday: 8-10am Please use book a court to reserve your court. It is a condition of our opening that we know who is going to play before they come down, so please do not just turn up and hope to hit. You will embarrass the supervisor and will be turned away. 17.01.2022 With the green light for tennis competition to return in Victoria, the NEJTA is pleased to announce our current plans for the Spring 2020 season. We are hoping ...for the season to begin on 15 August and run for 10 rounds plus finals with six teams per section. All teams must be finalised and entered by 15 July and this is also the date that all transfer forms must be submitted. Please contact your local club if you wish to register for the Spring 2020 season.

15.01.2022 Happy New Year to all our club members and followers. We trust that you had a lovely Christmas and New Year with family and friends. As we start to find our feet and recover after lockdowns, it's important to us that while we ask for support, from our members and extended networks that we also support local businesses as we are both backbones of our community. With that being said we are going to start the year off with a gnocchi and pasta fundraising drive. By placing your o...rders with us you are not only supporting the tennis club you are also supporting Nick's Gnocchi and Pasta. The gnocchi and pasta will be delivered frozen to the club tennis rooms the week of 22nd Feb (orders need to be in by 15th Feb). If you can't wait that long, we are able to organise special deliveries with a minimum order quantity. 08.01.2022 It is with great sadness that the NEJTA Committee must announce today that the Autumn 2020 season is officially to be abandoned. Due to the ongoing State of Emergency in Victoria on account of COVID-19, competition was forcibly suspended. We have now been left with a scenario where there are not enough weeks left to be able to salvage the season even in a reduced format. Additionally, the original 1 June deadline for team submissions for the Spring 2020 season will not be adh...ered to and a new deadline will be formed at a later date. The Committee is currently working on what format the Spring 2020 season will need to be as well as the form of compensation clubs will receive for the unfinished Autumn 2020 season.
