25.01.2022 New "do" after nine weeks in - thanks Kate!

25.01.2022 Sorry for the long post! We started our B&B nearly 7 years ago with no previous hospitality experience (when Ivan found himself suddenly out of work), and it was a huge learning curve for us. Fortunately we adapted and soon learnt how to "fake it till you make it" - cooking up awesome breakfasts each morning, flipping sheets like professionals and being enthusiastic entrepreneurs for Bridgetown. Many couples who have stayed with us over the years, have gone on to purchase hom...es in this beautiful town and we feel privileged that we may have contributed in some way to them making that decision. We've met so many wonderful and interesting people, we've made new friends and we've even gained neighbours along the way! We've loved running the Green Welly B&B, putting our heart and soul into it and giving a little bit of ourselves to our guests on each encounter to ensure that they had the best ever accommodation experience. We're proud of the brand that we've created and of the success that we've achieved during the last 6 and 1/2 years. Covid 19 has given us time to reflect, and time to slow down. LIfe has changed for all of us and we've decided to take time out from the B&B for the foreseeable future, and see what the next chapter brings. We have no immediate plans as yet, but have a few ideas in the pipeline. We thank all of you for your friendship and support and hope that you will stay connected with us via our social media channels and in person of course. Take care everyone, we will miss you! X

23.01.2022 We had the pleasure of hosting snake avoidance training for dogs at The Green Welly today and happy to say that Coco passed with flying colours!

23.01.2022 We've waved off our last Green Welly guests with mixed emotions! We fell into hospitality unexpectedly and so many advised that it wouldn't last as it's been done before, its too much work etc. Others felt free to comment that it wouldn't be their choice of work and how they wouldn't want strangers in their home. But it didn't phase us, (and to be honest we didn't have much choice as we needed the income), so we ignored all the advice and dived in at the deep end! We found w...e were good at it and enjoyed meeting fellow travellers from all walks of life. We particularly loved introducing them to all that Bridgetown has to offer (many have since gone on to buy a property here). Being avid travellers ourselves we relished the challenge of continually introducing little touches to delight our guests, providing them with a unique accommodation experience at The Green Welly. We've absolutely no regrets, we've managed to create a successful small business and have reaped the benefits. But now it's time for us to take a rest, downsize our property, and enter our next phase - retirement! Woohoo! Thank you to all our wonderful guests who have stayed with us, and helped us to create our little business and to grow and prosper. We will miss you. X See more
