23.01.2022 Recycle and re-purpose. Instead of transporting 22,000 cubic metres of potential acid sulphate soil to landfill, the excavated soil from the Grasmere Wetland construction was treated on site and utilised to create a link between the Grasmere Creek shared user path at Buchanan Road and the Cardinia Creek Parklands. Money saved, community assets created, less waste to landfill and another case of government authorities working together to benefit the environment and the community. Well done Melbourne Water, Parks Victoria, the City of Casey and the team at Greenworks for creating a fantastic asset. More on the soon to be completed wetland coming. https://bit.ly/2SdZJMn

21.01.2022 Some recent embankment repair works at Sugarloaf Reservoir. What a magnificent place to work

18.01.2022 A nice little overland flow project completed by Mark, Don and the crew. This section of waterway was continually eroding after numerous attempts to address the issue. The erosion created silt and rock deposition within the downstream section. It has since withstood a number of high flows through the site. A positive outcome and a massive visual improvement for the community.

17.01.2022 Chris and Haydn picked up our new loader today. A good bit of gear.

17.01.2022 Following a couple of delays due to re-design, The Upper Yarra Spillway project has been completed. Well done to Wayne, Grace, Kyle, Jason, Don and Jake for their persistence and commitment. Well done also to Melbourne Water's Toufeek Edross. Your ability to manage a constantly evolving project into a quality outcome is to be commended.

14.01.2022 Thanks to Adam, Mark, Liam, Don and the rest of the Greenworks team for their efforts over the past 9 months at Stony Creek, in often trying conditions. The remediation works conducted in conjunction with Melbourne Water, EPA Victoria, Insite and Prensa have resulted in a significant transformation of Stony Creek following the worst chemical fire in Victoria's recent history.

14.01.2022 Liverpool Road RB is a popular spot for the locals and their dogs however the banks of the lake are incurring areas of erosion from dogs entering the water body. Under the management of Melbourne Water's Tony Ross and Tom Wright, our scope of works was to create a formalised and protected access point so the eroded areas could be reinstated with native vegetation. Well done to Mark, Don and the team for providing a great outcome.

14.01.2022 The past 12 months have provided plenty of highlights and many opportunities at Greenworks. We were honoured to receive a nomination at the Melbourne Water Managing Directors Generative Safety Awards for safety innovation. That nomination is a reward for the effort and commitment of our staff and their commitment to providing a safe and progressive work place. We were also fortunate enough to receive the Victorian Civil Contractors Federation Earth Award for Excellence in Ci...vil Construction. The award related to the Cardinia Creek Fishway construction project. That prestigious award presented us with the opportunity to represent Victoria at the CCF National Awards ceremony at Parliament House in Canberra. Thank you to Elisha Calle from Melbourne Water and Stuart Cleven from Alluvium Consulting for joining us to represent our state and to share the experience. As an organisation, we were involved in 129 projects including bridge constructions, fishway constructions, wetland rehabilitations, erosion repairs and many other projects including many that again highlight the recovery potential of Victoria's waterways. We welcomed new staff, continued to upgrade our equipment, continued to maintain 2 nationally recognised levels of system certification, continued to further train our people to ensure they are leaders in their field and most importantly, we worked with some fantastic people and organisations who share similar values and aspirations for the environment. We now look forward to a hopefully safe, healthy and successful 2019 for everyone.

02.01.2022 Works are continuing on the spillway repair works at the Upper Yarra Reservoir. A lovely place to work but the typical Melbourne temperature extremes are definitely magnified within the spillway. Works are certainly progressing. Well done to the team.

01.01.2022 A positive follow up to some of the works conducted by Melbourne Water at Yellingbo Nature Conservation Reserve over the past couple of years. During 2017/18, Greenworks played a small part restoring some of the natural ecology of the site by removing man made levees. These levees were drowning out some of the natural vegetation which was diminishing the habitat of some of our most endangered species. Congratulations to all involved for progressing this ecologically delicate and worthwhile project.
