25.01.2022 One Sunday morning we had a guest-speaker at church: he was teaching about HOW TO MOVE IN THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. I was sitting near the back - maybe it ...was the very back row, or the second-back row. While he was speaking, suddenly, unexpectedly I started to get an impression of the number '3'; and the words 'back pain'. It was sort of like on Sesame Street, how it says at the end, "This program was brought to you by the number '3' and the letter 'L' " - it was like I could 'see' the number 3 in front of my eyes. I thought to myself, "I think I've got a word of knowledge!" Right at that moment the preacher interrupted his own preaching and said, "Somebody here's got a word of knowledge. Who's that person?" "I think it's me!" I responded from the back, raising my hand, "I'm getting the number '3'; and 'back pain'." "You put your hand on your lower-back when you said that," the preacher observed. (I hadn't even realised I'd done so, but I still had my hand on my lower back.) Then he said to the congregation, "Anyone with lower back pain, raise your hand". Three people in the congregation put their hands up. The preacher told them each to come to me, and said I would pray for them. So the three of them straightaway got up from their seats and came to me at the back. One of the men told me he'd been born with an unformed disc in his spine. I asked him, "Which disc is it?" "Number 3 from the bottom," he answered. I laid hands on each of them for healing. There were hundreds of people there that day. It had all been an unplanned, perfect illustration and demonstration to us all of what the guest-speaker was teaching about! 'Moving in the gifts of the Holy Spirit'. Then the speaker carried on with his message. I wasn't in full-time ministry: I was just a regular, active church-attendee. But some years later when I went out traveling and announcing the gospel, I met one of those three men again, in a country town. He told me his back had been real good ever since. Then he asked me whether I remembered the man about whom I had the word of knowledge who was born with an unformed disc - number '3' - in his spine. He told me the man was a friend of his, and that he'd invited him to accompany him to our city that day to come to church with him: it was his friend's first time to ever go to church. "It left a real impression on him," he said. "...Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he HEALED THEIR SICK" (Matthew 14:14). "...the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the WORD OF KNOWLEDGE by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues" (I Corinthians 12:7-10). "...God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues" (verse 28). "If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and... ...if all prophesy, and there come in ONE THAT BELIEVETH NOT, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth" (I Corinthians 14:23-25).

24.01.2022 One day I said to the Lord, "I really need to understand Australia's history - from your perspective". I was visiting Parramatta at the time, and saw all the h...istorical sites there - but I noticed I was feeling some difficulty really celebrating it all. You want to celebrate our society and history - but at the same time I thought of atrocities which some people had committed against some aborigines; I also thought of some harsh treatment of convicts... ...so I really needed to know God's perspective on Australia's history! One afternoon soon afterwards I knelt to pray. Suddenly the wall in front of me seemed to disappear, and unexpectedly I went into a vision. It was like I was taken back in time - taken back a couple of hundred years, to a time before the British set-up a prison-camp at Sydney Cove. I saw an aboriginal man, walking through the bush. He was wearing traditional clothes. He broke through a clearing in the scrub, and stepped onto the open beach on the East coast of Australia. He was feeling carefree - I could almost feel the breeze on his face. It was almost like I was him. I could feel what he felt. He was feeling like things were as they had always been, and would always be as they had been. Then as he looked out to sea, he saw something he'd never seen before - beams of bright light on the horizon. "What ever could that be?" he wondered to himself. He knew it wasn't the sunrise, because it was high-noon - the sun was already shining brightly above his head in the clear blue sky. He kept watching and wondering - the beams of light became brighter and brighter. He knew that whatever the source of the light was, it was going to appear above the horizon soon. He was enthralled. His feelings heightened to a crescendo. And then it appeared - a city - a bright shining city. The city rose higher and higher in the sky, and moved closer and closer, until the city came and stood right above him. He stood there transfixed, gazing upwards into the city, in absolute awe of such glory, grandeur and beauty as he'd never seen before. He was bathing in glory, peace and joy. Then to his further surprise the city began to lower itself down towards the ground - 'til it just plonked itself on the continent. It occupied the entire continent, from sea to sea; east to west, and south to north - with only a centimetre of land outside the parameters of its walls. He felt privileged, and yet felt identified with the city, like he owned it and it was him: it fitted him perfectly and he was perfectly fitted for it. The city had walls. Inside the city I saw dwellings, with windows - some of the windows were black, and some white. I looked to see if there was any indication whether black might represent 'bad' and white 'good' - but it didn't: they're just 'different.' And each dwelled happily together inside. And the vision ended. Straightaway I knew what it meant: God was up to something good! "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" (II Corinthians 4:6). I usually share this experience around Australia Day - but I thought I'd share it again today. Isn't it true that the most-nourishing, only wise, unprejudiced, true, righteous, sanctifying, unifying, society-saving narrative any of us can ever hear - is the gospel narrative. "...the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again" (II Corinthians 5:14,15).

20.01.2022 Before you react to this image please consider the following. Here we see arguably the most powerful man in the world, President Donald Trump holding up a BIBL...E. I am not qualified to judge his motives or reasons for doing this and this is not a political piece, so please don’t post hate Trump or love Trump comments videos or conspiracy theories of what others say or think and please don’t read anything into my post other than what I write, which is sadly being done way too often these days...but, I am qualified in a small way to talk about the BIBLE that he is holding up. I am a 31 year veteran Pastor and have read this book from cover to cover more times than I can remember. Within this book, the BIBLE it says in John 6:63 The words that I speak to you are spirit and they are life this isn’t like any other book, this is the Word of God and should not just be held, but opened and read because within it you may find solutions to the problems that the world is facing at the moment. Let me share on just a few of these solutions. In John 3:16 it says For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. We often see this verse brandished on a sign and held aloft at a football match or other event but I wonder how many people have ever bothered to open up a BIBLE and read what it says? Here, God says He loves the world and salvation is for whoever believes God doesn’t mention political ideology, social status, race, ethnicity or the color of your skin, in God’s eyes we are all the same and equally deserving of salvation that can only come through repentance of sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In Matthew 22:37-38 the BIBLE says...Jesus said You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment, and the second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself Again, God puts no criteria on who our neighbor is, other than, they are just the same as us. These powerful versus can be summarized into 2 small phrases Love God and Love People I don’t think anything needs to be added to this but, in these troubling times, these truths should not be neglected or forgotten completely and it’s possibly because we have strayed from these, that we find ourselves in trouble. We find more wisdom in the BIBLE in Matthew 7:1-5 Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’ and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. And with this passage I will conclude by saying, I am sorry to my church family and friends and all the other neighbors I have met over my 31 years of ministry. If I have ever failed you, judged you by not hearing you or in anyway hurt you, I repent and will do better. I won’t try and justify myself or make excuses because in doing so I undermine the very principle of repentance...there are no excuses. Moving forward, I will be busy dealing with the plank in my own eye and pray that I can see more clearly to better help others irrespective of their political ideology, social status, race, ethnicity or skin color...just as God does. In Romans 12:18 it says If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men and with that I say, let us all live in peace with one another Love God and Love People What you choose to do from here, now depends on you. 19.01.2022 A repulsive look ?? Perhaps he is, but he saved three children from the fire that caught their house and he takes them out one by one until he saved them despite the damage he sustained. And the family refused to tease him with another dog
