25.01.2022 Yellow Spotted Monitor: now that's a tongue :)

24.01.2022 Stick Around, I'm a Stick Insect. Can you spot my head :)

22.01.2022 Perhaps for obvious reasons, I called this one: Grab and Go.

22.01.2022 A Couple: King Parrots ------------

21.01.2022 Just in case you were wondering how the Kookaburra's are going creating their new nest in a white ant nest about 4 metes up a tree

20.01.2022 For those who enjoyed the 'Cute is as Cute Looks' image of the Red-necked Wallaby and Joey. Here is a follow-up image of this pair :) You know what it is like: you just want to stop and pick the pretty purple flowers and Mum just wants to bounce on and get the day's work underway (best viewed in full screen)

20.01.2022 Dwarf Tree Frogs or Eastern Sedge-frogs depending on who you ask against the backdrop of purple Agapanthus :)

19.01.2022 For those following the kookaburra take-over of the white ant nest - the deed is done. Now I love Kookaburras but I don't know if that is a slightly cheeky or evil look .. maybe we should ask the white ants

19.01.2022 Red-backed Fairy-wren (male)

18.01.2022 An Egret out for a stroll in Mono :)

18.01.2022 I'm not sure how you started New Year but I went photographing green tree frogs before breakfast :)

15.01.2022 So the Drongos came back: in fact there are now 4 Drongos on the block. One pair has built a nest: as high up as last year but in a different tree and a little harder to photograph. If last Dec/Jan was an indication, eggs laid in Dec and chicks were visible by early January but they do seem to be settling down a bit earlier this year and for the first time we have spotted a Noisy Friarbird on our block :)

15.01.2022 Little fish are sweet :)

13.01.2022 An Australian Pipit. They are ground dwellers but this one perched on a stump to sing me a song :)

13.01.2022 A Straited Pardalote hanging onto the old fence wire

12.01.2022 There is a pair of Kookaburras who spend a lot of time in our back yard bush block. This white ant nest is about 3-4 metres above ground level. The Kookaburras fly at the nest and peck and peck until they create an opening. They expand the opening until it is big enough for the female to lay eggs in 'their nest'

10.01.2022 Who needs a spoon: Pelican Lunch ------------

10.01.2022 Brahminy Kite catching the morning light :)

08.01.2022 Little Egret, Early Light

08.01.2022 An Albino Blue Tongue ------------

08.01.2022 Crimson rosella and a grape snack :)

07.01.2022 A Chestnut-breasted Mannikin. Hard to capture but the seeds kept this one occupied while I photographed from the other side of the road :)

06.01.2022 Caught breaking off and chewing on our plants: Spider Plant Destroyer ------------

06.01.2022 Osprey in Flight :)

06.01.2022 There is always someone looking in the wrong direction :)

06.01.2022 The task is almost complete and in the meantime if you're spider, don't come out to play while the Kookaburra mate is keeping watch :)

06.01.2022 If you can't travel far you can reflect and remember: for those who have been to Norfolk Island did you see the Kestrel's hovering

05.01.2022 Australia finishes 6th of 33 Countries in Nature - not a bad outcome. 20 Images from each country: The egret with a fish in its mouth (2nd row, middle spot) was mine.

05.01.2022 You just have to love the eyes: Satin Bower Bird (female) from Bunya Mountains

05.01.2022 Superb Fairy-wren (female)

05.01.2022 My favourite birds are getting ready for spring and a new season of chicks ... this Osprey dad to be (we hope) is just doing some morning stretches .. a short while later he flew off and cam back with breakfast for mum-to-be :)

05.01.2022 When an Osprey has that look: are you my breakfast?

05.01.2022 Magnificent Tree Frog leaping towards the camera lens :)

04.01.2022 Nankeen Kestrel putting on a little show for me :)

02.01.2022 Ok so it is just a bird on a limb, but it was worth the bike ride down to Fleays (a local sanctuary area): Sacred Kingfisher
