21.01.2022 Welcome to Trimester 3 at Griffith College; we are so pleased to meet you all virtually My name is Leigh Pointon, I’m the College Director & Principal. What I love most about Griffith College is that I get to meet students like you; students that have come to the College community from many different parts of the world, including from Australia. I love to watch the transformation that happens. Students, just like you, start at the College with lots of nervous excitement a...nd some big goals and it’s our job to help you to achieve those goals. We are all facing some extra challenges this year, but at Griffith College we’ve put a lot of work into reshaping our teaching, learning and support so that we can continue to deliver the same, if not better educational experiences so you have the best chance of success no matter where you are in the world. My advice for you as you start your new journey with us, is to make sure you get involved, not only with your peers and teachers in your classes, but also, when the opportunity arises, get involved in activities that will help you to become part of the wider College community yes, even while we are mostly online; keeping in touch via the College Digital Campus is the best way to do this. Studying in higher education is challenging but very rewarding, I wish you all the best and encourage you to be curious and to ask lots of questions of your teachers and your fellow students. Challenging existing knowledge is how we discover and create new knowledge I’m so excited you are on this journey with us at Griffith College. Best wishes for Trimester 3.
