Thanks to everyone who has made this year the best one yet There will be formal lessons until this coming Friday after which we will take some time off. If you really really wanna come in for us to check in on your playing over the next few weeks we will make an exception, but feel free to have a few weeks rest - yall deserve it! We will be formally back for the 2nd week of Jan.

21.01.2022 So we had a blackout tonight... but in true Griffiths spirit some lessons still went ahead in the dark with our phone torches! Apologies to any students who experienced this with us... I guess one could say it was PITCH black, get it?

20.01.2022 Heres an awesome performance of "Finesse" from CAN featuring 2 of our teachers, Aaron on guitar and Jason on keys, synth and rap! Great job all, looks like so much fun!

19.01.2022 Ok CUTENESS OVERLOAD This is the gorgeous lil Samaira learning Happy Birthday. She recently turned 8 and we had a lot of fun learning this tune through clapping the rhythm first, then saying the pitches aloud as we played, and THEN singing along. She is an absolute joy to teach and she understands quavers best when we say "dou-ble" along with clapping them. We also learnt about the Bb note in this little tune. Happy Belated Bday Samaira, you rock!

18.01.2022 A big congrats to everyone who performed at CAN (St Andrews Colleges Creative Arts Night) yesterday - Aaron attended and said you all smashed it! We are so proud of you Heres what one of our teachers, Jason, has to say about CAN: I was a former St Andrews College student from 2007 to 2012 and CAN as an event started when I was in Year 8. As a student who loved his creative arts it was an awesome event. It influenced me massively to become a music teacher. It really develops a sense of confidence, especially with big crowds. I love how it engages students, and creates a passion and energy."

17.01.2022 Heres one of our talented piano teachers Vishishta having a practice at the studio!

16.01.2022 Welcome back everyone! Were hoping you enjoyed your first week back! Happy practising!

15.01.2022 After many requests from parents for online classes we are offering remote learning via Google classroom and Skype/Zoom. Students must have access to a gmail account and access to a tablet or desktop for Skype/Zoom. How it all works: Students will conduct a 30 minute lesson via Skype or Zoom at an allocated time between 10am-8pm Monday-Saturday (based on availability). ... After their lesson they will receive a weekly assignment via google classroom based on the content material of their lesson. By utilizing google classroom students can submit a video of themselves performing the piece once they have completed it for immediate feedback and have access to their tutors for any advice regarding practice. This will help keep lessons accountable for students and give them better support options then just a 30 minute video call each week. We are currently offering the option of lessons on a weekly or fortnightly basis. We do accept the creative kids voucher if youd like to redeem it for your child. We hope you stay safe and cannot wait till we are able to re-open the studio.

14.01.2022 Hoping you had a wonderful first week back!

10.01.2022 Super proud of our girl Jemma who sang Someone You Loved at CAN in extremely windy conditions! It is super hard to sing in front of your school friends with strong wind coming at your face but the way Jemma pulled back the dynamic here was really lovely and impressive! Very heartfelt performance, great job Jemma!

10.01.2022 Meet the Teachers Part 11: Welcoming the very cool Bonny to the team! Bonny comes in on Sundays and teaches guitar and drums. Shes been playing these instruments for just over 10 years and then studied both of them at AIM. She was always brought up around rock music and has absolutely loved it for as long as she can remember, always being something she wanted to be involved with. This is what she has to say about music teaching: "When the opportunity to teach came up it completely changed the trajectory of my life, I had no idea Id develop such a massive passion for it! I get so psyched seeing people learn something new, and sharing my passion with them. Its the most rewarding job, I absolutely love it!"

05.01.2022 Meet the Teachers: Part 10! Welcoming the lovely Katherine to the team! Katherine is one of our piano teachers and shes been playing for around 8 years. Shes completed her AMEB piano grading until Grade 7 and shes currently doing her last grade. She mainly plays classical but she definitely still plays a lot of jazz and contemporary pieces for exams and performances. Check out what she has to say about music below! "I believe exploring different genres of music on a w...ide variety of instruments is great for developing a strong sense of creativity for anyone at all. That process was definitely what got me more interested and invested in music, and what allowed me to learn to read and play. I think its essential for students to really enjoy music in order to pursue it, because that was definitely how myself and many others were drawn to it." See more
