09.01.2022 We were very sorry to hear of the recent passing of Lyn Brown - one of the original members of the Griffith Festival of Gardens committee and a valued volunteer of the Griffith Visitor Information Centre (Visit Griffith). During this time when our festival is usually in full swing, we take a moment to remember Lyn. Lyn's passion for gardens was evident in her commitment to the festival. Lyn was always available to volunteer at garden gates and in more recent years helping... out with the launch party. She was always so happy and willing to lend a hand with that friendly smile. Along with Charlie Robertson, Lyn was always on hand to maintain the plants which formed part of the Festival of Gardens Giant Basket Citrus Sculpture and looked after it throughout the festival period. Thank you Lyn

07.01.2022 MULBERRY TREE PLANTING While we're talking about mulberry trees, here is a great idea for those with a chicken coop. Plant a tree in your chicken coop area so it can provide great shade for the chickens, but also provides food for them and you! If you keep it well pruned, growing low to the ground, the mulberries are at perfect picking level. Thanks for the great tips, Costa Georgiadis Official. 01.01.2022 PASSIONFRUIT DAISY There's always room in the garden for a scented plant such as this, the Passionfruit Daisy. It's good to put it in somewhere near a gate so that you always get the beautiful scent as the gate brushes past it.
