20.01.2022 Brisbane Softball Umpire Association would like to congratulate Helen Strauss on her recent appointment to Level 7. This Softball Australia appointment is i...n recognition of Helen’s contribution to umpiring both on and off the diamond. This appointment also acknowledging Helen’s outstanding performance at an International level in her appointment to the Plate Umpire on the Gold Medal game at the IX ISF Junior Women’s World Championships 2011. Helen started her Umpiring career in Brisbane Softball Association as a Redshirt trainee and continues Umpire regularly, passing on her knowledge and experience to other umpires. Helen is also a Life Member of BSUA and current Committee Secretary. See more

09.01.2022 Thank you is so easy to say, but it really does not express just how much South Brisbane Softball appreciate the efforts of the volunteers who helped with clean... out, wash down and return of what we could salvage as a result of Friday's flooding. Great achievement by all with work on the canteen, 2 storage containers, amenities block & storeroom, diamonds, and retrieval of water tank, roller and industrial bin. A long hard day, and certainly very dirty, but rewarding to see so much achieved. 09.01.2022 Another busy weekend at South Brisbane Softball. Fences cleaned and whipper snipped, seats painted, fences fixed, lines marked, new sign put up, pitchers mats ...levelled, home plates pinned,.... There is still lots being done after the flood and in preparation for the Club Classic and Masters Classic. This lot have been there all weekend. They just keep going to get the job done. 07.01.2022 Well, who would have thought that with all this rain South Brisbane Softball would be flooded. This will be the worst flooding we have ever seen at our grounds.... Tonight we aren't even able to drive down Preston Road. The road is flooded at the lights on Meadowlands Road. From Kate Street the water is a block away from the fields. Our best guess is that the canteen is completely under water. Let's hope there isn't too much damage.
