24.01.2022 I'm a big fan of Comrade Oliver & especially appreciate his bringing the Coronavirus epidemic onto his show. Viet Nam even gets a special mention at about the 6.20 minute mark. Thanks John & thanks to the Vietnamese Govt too, they really deserve a bouquet for the way they're handling this.

21.01.2022 These lockers are made from the recycled 1 Litre Milk or Fruit Juice style containers that you'll see at the Supermarket here in VN. I've seen the same kinds of containers in the USA & in Oz too. These lockers are put together here in VN are are quite strong & robust too.... What a great idea for not only the environment but as a job creator too.

18.01.2022 More on Ha Noi & our dealing with the CoronaVirus. The area shown in this video is the same area just near us that I did some videos & pictures on a couple of days ago. The Authorities are making sure people are comfortable while their under quarantine with daily deliveries of food, drinks & actually a fair bit more than the basic necessities.... I can only admire the way this is being handled & whilst a bit concerned for Thuy, me & the little dog I have every confidence our beloved Ha Noi & us too will be OK. The Vietnamese are, as I often say, are mostly decent, fair minded & good humoured too. The only complaining so far has been from a western couple going the whinge & sook about how so few of the staff at the Tropical disease unit can speak English "properly" & then there's the mostly younger expat or alleged English teachers coming up the rear, pun intended. Most of this lot are not just letting no qualifications whatsoever stop them going the massive sook & whinge but they're offering all kinds of worthless advice to not only each other but to the Vietnamese Authorities as well. Oh dear ........

12.01.2022 This award is very well earned & on our Griswald's Vietnamese Vacations itineraries we always have time for Hoi An. Max's 1st time there was in 1995 & he's been so very fond of it ever since. It's certainly grown during the years since but it's small town charm is still there & it's one of those places that's like going home to come back to.

12.01.2022 Ha Long Bay - What an experience! Where to begin - me and a group of friends were fortunate enough to have our Vietnamese travel experience facilitated by The R...eal Kangaroo Cafe Tours and their fantastic proprietors Max and Miss Thuy (and their canine mate Foxxy) in December of 2019. First and foremost Max is a down to earth and very amiable Australian bloke who has long lived in the region and his first hand experience shows in the invaluable and cost efficient recommendations, advice and bookings he provides along the way - without Max we would quite simply have been lost and most likely stung financially. Max brings a passion for his adopted homeland and knowledge of the oft not discussed side of Vietnam's history and its relationship with the western world not matched by any travel agent or tour guide in my experience travelling across 4 continents and 20+ countries. Max's seemingly endless knowledge base and wealth of experience enriches and enhances your trip to the utmost degree and he's also great for a laugh and a chat and the very hospitable Max, Miss Thuy and Foxxy help make the experience feel a lot more like an old friend is organizing your trip and you're in more than capable and safe hands the whole time and are beyond accommodating to all needs. Organisation of travel, taxi's, accommodation etc. is all affordable but also very high quality and the two individual tours we booked were amazing and well worth more than the price of admission. The Ha Long Bay tour takes you on a very spacious and well equipped boat throughout the historic bodies of water and land formations in the comfort of air conditioning in every room, a massive top deck area to sunbathe, read a book or have a drink, fantastic dining area (at which you'll be treated to fresh regional seafood on a daily basis - a culinary highlight of the trip personally) and even a bit of squid fishing off the boat after dark! Mustn't forget a fully stocked bar and friendly boat staff. The Ha Long Bay tour aside from offering some of the most breathtaking and beautiful landscapes I've encountered in my life includes kayaking in the tropical, see through waters, a guided tour through an expansive and visually striking cave system and swimming in the bay off a secluded beach along the way. I'm not normally one to write reviews nor give praise lightly but I couldn't recommend both The Real Kangaroo Cafe Tours and their Ha Long Bay tour enough. Perfect for young and old and I daresay I'll be returning as soon as possible.

10.01.2022 This is the magnificent Long Bien bridge here in Ha Noi where we often take people over to go for dinner at the BBQ Duck market. No cars or trucks only Motor bikes, Bicycles, pedestrians & Trains !!!
