14.01.2022 As another year has begun, we are always conscious of the health and wellbeing of our fellow team members and FIFO workers. Were happy to share the following simple tips designed to encourage and inspire whilst living in mining camps: Hydration. With temperatures exceeding 45 degrees on mine sites, keeping hydrated is of the upmost importance. Invest in water, electrolytes and hydralyte. Remember to prepare the evening before the day ahead.... The importance of sleep. Try switching from smartphones and TV to reading books prior to sleep. Remember to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep a night. A sleep tracking app can help with monitoring sleeping to get you into a regular pattern. Eat well, be mindful. When at the drymess, consider portions and focus on a large vegetable intake, reducing meat and carbohydrates every second meal. Exercise. Take advantage of camp sports facilities. Grab a buddy, listen to motivational podcasts and get into the gym!

11.01.2022 This week sees two energetic and passionate mining students explore the Iluka Resources Cataby Mineral Sands Project from where they live to where they work. A guided tour was provided by Grounded Construction over the course of a day, from the story of the camp to the massive structures producing rutile from sand. Challenges faced and overcome will be a talking point as we aim to show and explain to these students the reality of mining construction and its problematic natu...re of remote location. 05.01.2022 A massive thanks to The WA Mining Club Young Professionals for holding the Design A Donga Unveiling at The Camfield last Thursday. Over 300 attendees turned out on a balmy Perth evening to see an existing donga refurbished with progressive aspects and a brand new design and construct of modern accommodation rooms, designed to improve the living conditions of our remote workers. Thanks to Fortescue Mining Group who donated the existing donga for refurbishment. It was a pleasure to work with Modular WA in the design and build of the new accommodation building and a big thanks also to all the suppliers who contributed their products and knowledge.
