25.01.2022 We’ve received a number of calls from clients asking our advice in relation to staying at Creek Huts and Beach Homes this Easter weekend. The rules are clear, we are all to stay home at our Principal Place of Residence which for the majority of us means the address listed on our Drivers Licence. A born and bred local, Alicia started with Groves and Clark in January 2017 and is a Senior Solicitor practising in commercial, rural and residential conveyancing, leasing, wills and estates and succession planning. After being admitted as a Solicitor in 2003, Alicia commenced employment with a large Townsville law firm, where she become an Associate. Alicia worked for a number of years at that firm before taking a break from the profession to raise her three sons. During her time at this firm, Alicia gained extensive experience in commercial transactions and succession planning for high net worth clients. Being actively involved in the management of the family farming business, Alicia brings to Groves and Clark and her clients, personal experience and knowledge of the sugar industry and the issues facing family run businesses. The role will include:- Liaising with clients, agents, law firms, banks and brokers; Conducting property searches; Drafting of correspondence and general system generated documents; Calculating settlement figures and arranging settlements; In-house stamping of contracts and transfers and Preparation and lodgement of Titles Office forms. The successful candidate should be able to run both sale and purchase files from beginning to the end either autonomously or with very little supervision required. The successful applicant must also have a pleasant personality with an ability to deal with people, a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, strong communication and organisational skills, an enthusiastic and pro-active approach. Having commenced his employment with Groves and Clark in 1974 and becoming a partner in 1975, Bruce has been practising in the Burdekin for 45 years. He practises primarily in matters involving the sugar and agricultural industries, commercial and residential conveyancing, leasing, wills, estates and estate planning. Bruce adopts a common sense approach to his files to achieve a realistic and cost effective outcome for his clients.
