23.01.2022 Updated photos of our upcycled living cubby house. Cucumber hanging baskets are working excellent , the vines are growing up through the pallet roof & spreading across just as we had hoped. Side pockets are working well & we even had a living chickweed floor till the chickens found & demolished it .

22.01.2022 I'm floating the idea of doing some Grow Cook Taste online classes as all of our events have been cancelled & so many kids are stuck at home in isolation. This may include garden & cooking such as making seed raising mix , sowing seeds , sprouting , making stocks , sauces , condiments , dips ,fermenting , yougurt cheese , raw foods & whatever else I'm currently doing. If this interests you please comment & I'll get organised to start asap.

21.01.2022 Lovely Day out in the garden planting seedlings. Had to improvise some hanging basket liners to grow salad greens in as I keep running out of space to put more plants in that the horse , ducks & chickens can't get to. Now just to find spaces for the Corn & Rockmelons to grow.

Including vegetable heads , balancing beams , climbing frame , music wall , cubby , kitchen , ball shoot , water play , sand pit , edible flowers , rocks , things for building or stacking . Heaps to look at, taste , touch , smell , areas for hidding.

18.01.2022 Old used truck tyre hubcaps recycled into kids play tunnel . Old split hoses make great quoits & Hulla hoops. I've also seen hoses made into mats by winding into a flat circle and cable tieing. #recycle

16.01.2022 Creating some more resources for our Sprouties group starting next month (Dates to be released asap )felt pieces for our storytelling (my kids had fun helping make) & Putting the final touches on the Sensory garden area . We've had to put several permaculture design principles in to action such as " Use slow & small solutions" & " Creatively use & respond to change" ( to name a couple) to stop the resident horse from entering the sensory garden eating the mulch & plants. He...re you can see our herb heads fence made with old pots it stops the horse entering the garden but not the kids. It adds height and colour to the garden , more to taste and smell and they also look great. I chose to use herbs for these pots as I assumed the strong smell & taste of herbs would deter the horse from eating them , so far she hasn't eaten them though she did have a nibble on strawberry hanging baskets ( which have be now relocated to a inaccessible spot) . 16.01.2022 Earth kids info session and Community 77 openday tomorrow After much stress & mucking around I've finally found a way to play the visual presentation I made , did I mention I'm not great with digital technology . Even found a way to add my favourite permaculture Formidable Vegetable beets to the presentation.

13.01.2022 This week i found out my youngest has eczema after a major skin reaction to what I suspect was a new nappy soaker I just started using recently. Triggered by an environmental cause YES but the underlining cause of all disease is usually the immune system is unbalanced & overloaded. So that's where im focusing my energy. Ive long since thought we have been having reactions to certain natural chemicals in some fruit & vegetables as well as other things. I myself am sensitive ...to sulphites in drinks & dried fruit and probably other things too. I already removed tomato paste from our diet a few months ago as that was causing issues for the whole family & kiwifruits have been out for years. Now looking back rashes/irritations she's had I put down to teething may actually have been food reactions . Its all in the gut people that's where either health or disease begins & sometimes even healthy foods like fruits & vegetables can cause issues for some people. See more

04.01.2022 Belgium's Magic Vegetables are working!! By renaming & marketing them as fun they have seen a 150% increase in children's vegetables consumption. Check out the video below. 04.01.2022 Last approval has been granted to run our Grow Cook Taste kids clubs . Groups will be Sprouties 2-6 years , Seedlings 6-12 years and Saplings 12-16years . First group to launch will be Sprouties keep an eye out for release of dates. Sprouties group will include Nature Play , Book readings , Story Boarding , Gardening activities , Cooking activities , Sensory Play , Puzzles & Games , Animal interactions , Craft Activites and more. Sprouties group has been designed with both pa...rents & Children's needs in mind.
