24.01.2022 Anyone excited about school going back. I am a little sad cause this is the last school year I have to worry about for the rest of my life. But for those of you who are a little bit exhausted from the endless flurry of activity, hope you are thinking of slowing down with a cuppa and perhaps throwing in a massage to get your school mindset switched on. Message me for appointments as early as next week. $65 for the hour and rebatable from private health fund

23.01.2022 I have learnt so much on this journey !!

22.01.2022 On foam rolling

20.01.2022 Have the indulgences of the silly season left you feeling bloated, tired and not as energetic as you would like to be. Have you given a thought to the fact that perhaps your Lymphatic system ( waste disposal of your body ) has been overworked and stretched to its max capacity. If that sounds like a likely possibility do get in touch and be amazed at how even one session of Manual Lymphatic Drainage can leave you feeling revitalised and ready to take on 2019 with zest and a spring in your step.

19.01.2022 Breast cancer scars need work but you don’t need to wait for your therapist Here is what you can do in the meanwhile Presurgery - ensure skin is supple and moist and breathing pattern is well established. Do simple shoulder stretches in readiness. Maintain good cardiovascular and lymphatic health by walking and gentle exercise In hospital breathe deeply and move rib cage while breathing ... Post surgery TOUCH your wound regularly through the bandages. Continue to work on deep breathing and touching the scar even once bandages are removed In a few weeks start to gently mobilise the skin surrounding the scar Return to gentle exercise and stretching routine when given the all clear by surgeon Gentle touch works wonders and all you need is a set of hands Growing with Grace is specially trained in scar work and can offer treatments when needed See more

17.01.2022 I have had good success in treating cording especially in early days. So if you notice any tightness or pulling in an area distal to your surgery please don’t ignore it - get it treated immediately. Cording is a bunching up of unhealthy tissue post node excision or even sentinel node biopsy. In fact if you get regular lymphatic massages before during and after treatment you are less likely to develop cording.

16.01.2022 Growing evidence to support the claim that Manual Lymphatic drainage has a positive effect on pain and stress

15.01.2022 Early intervention Is key !! https://youtu.be/SIzr0lrx_qY

14.01.2022 I had a fun day today. Even though the brain is a little fried right now I feel like excited at the prospect of putting my new found skills to use However TMJD - temporal mandibular joint disorder is not a lot of fun for some people. Some manifestations are headaches and grinding of the teeth and more seriously it can cause arthritis or sleep disturbances and can even be a pain in the neck - both literally and metaphorically. So if this is you or your loved one please come and have a treatment. The results will speak for themselves. Can offer appointments for next week.

12.01.2022 One of the best parts of being a massage therapist is getting to hear lovely stories. Today my almost 80 year old client shared with me the highlight of her day Inspired by the royal wedding her 7 year old granddaughter brought her nightie to her on a cushion and handed it to her wth a curtsy when she went over to babysit her and her brother

12.01.2022 Question :So what do you do when your kids come home with sore legs after a long and exhausting day. Right answer : you stick them in your new pneumatic compression sleeves.

09.01.2022 Not that you need a reason. But just saying ..... Have had some cancellations for tomorrow so please pm me if keen

08.01.2022 For a couple of years now I have been building up my skills in Complete Decongestive therapy to aid in the treatment and management of Lymphedema and associated conditions. CDT involves manual lymph drainage, bandaging/compression, exercise and self care. This all rounded approach is integral and none of the elements can be sidelined when one is managing such a complex condition. More recently I have been gaining expertise in treating scar tissue , particularly breast scars ...and the more I see the more I am amazed at what such simple and non invasive interventions can address. So if you or a loved one are battling lymphedema and associated maladies or have just come out of surgery and are wanting to prevent the onset of edema do consider booking in for an absolutely free assessment so that I can evaluate your condition and ensure that my services will provide the right fit for your needs. With Lymphedema early intervention is key so please seek out my services or the services of a therapist near you who is trained in providing CDT https://youtu.be/I7orwMgTQ5I See more

05.01.2022 Happy to report that I am having lots of success with reducing swelling related to inflammation of joints using Manual Lymphatic drainage technique. Here is a little nugget of gratitude from a satisfied client Dearest Ramona, thank you so so much for today... my fingers can bend so nicely again.. thank you thank you Your holistic approach is so good and makes me feel like I am co-responsible for making myself better, whatever the physical issue. God bless you dearest friend

05.01.2022 One of the most mind blowing and educative trainings I have undertaken in my lifetime. Understanding the disease of Lymphedema has made me understand health and what a blessing it is to have healthy lymphatics.

05.01.2022 Sinusitis and Manual Lymphatic drainage Seasons are changing and spring is in the air. For some of you that may not be the best time of the year If you are prone to sinus infections whether chronic or acute all the minute pollen in the air might decide to take up residence in the sinuses (spaces ) of your face leaving you feeling clogged up and unable to breathe properly. Or maybe you are still recovering from a winter flu and your nasal passages are still clogged up with ...the nasties making you feel heavy headed and uncomfortable. Have you ever considered getting your sinuses drained via the gentle VODDER technique of Manual Lymphatic drainage. Well I have and believe me it’s fantastic. So don’t let the heaviness of your head ruin that beautiful happy space. Book an MLD session and be wowed by how amazingly light and free you will end up feeling. See more

04.01.2022 Ahhhhh - the peace and quiet is almost palpable. School goes back. Chaos is done and routine has begun. Time for a leisurely cuppa and a massage to begin the school year on a relaxed footing. Message me for appointments as early as next week

04.01.2022 Nice to hear differing opinions

03.01.2022 I have mainly borrowed this sequence from the Ashtanga practice but have thrown in a few bits and pieces that make the practice more suitable for those with joint stiffness or hyper mobility issues. It’s designed to be a daily practice. While doing it daily may feel a bit repetitive the magic arises once you start to engage with all the subtle nuances of your body which keep changing from day to day. It’s designed for those with little or no experience as well as for those who are recovering from injury or illness. Feel free to comment or share with anyone who might need it.

03.01.2022 The magic of Manual Lymphatic Drainage

03.01.2022 Really happy putting my new found skills to use. Happy clients make for a happy therapist Thank you Ramona!!! After suffering with swelling and pain for over a month with a fractured ankle and ruptured ligaments... your magical healing touch made all the difference. I could barely believe my own eyes!! Lymphatic drainage massage.... I had never heard of it - but now I have experienced it and I highly recommend it!!!!!! Can’t thank you enough for caring so much. I hope many many more people will benefit from this amazing treatment you offer!

02.01.2022 Today I had to go out of my comfort zone and massage an 87 year old lady and what a rewarding experience that was. And of course when I contemplate, I question what is it about the experience of a Massage that makes people want to come back. Quite often it is to free those tight muscles but every now and then it is the healing touch that draws people back. The soft music, coupled with the soothing scents and simplicity of the warmth contained in a pair of hands does wonders to renew refresh and invigorate the dropping spirit. So if you think that someone out there would benefit from the gift of the healing touch this Christmas come and get them a growing with grace voucher specially created by my lovely friend Colleen Budd from Budding creative

01.01.2022 So this is a picture of the white blood cell attaching to the flu virus. This is an amazing immune response that your body is capable of. But then the bugs are all caught and we are over the acute state and we need to ask ourselves what then happens to all the excess white blood cells and the cellular debris that is lurking around in our circulatory system. We need to question why do we continue to feel sluggish and not ourselves for weeks afterward. So here is the deal.... Your lymph system which is the garbage disposal of your body is now overworked. Like in a car pile up the roads are blocked and the mess is stagnant. You need clean up crew. And that where we Lymphatic Drainage therapist come to the rescue. To clear the mess and get the system back to optimal functioning Long after we have recovered from the cold or flu, this gunk may stay stuck there, and continue to create symptoms. Manual lymphatic drainage helps to increase the circulation of lymphatic fluid, increase immune cell production, and enhance the removal of toxins. So if you or a loved one needs to get back to optimum health and bounce back from a virus and be better prepared to cope with the rest of the flu season- please contact your nearest therapist. You will be amazed at the result. This is a note from one of my happy clients Hi Ramona, your hands did magic. I felt all refreshed, positive and hopeful yesterday and for the first time in a week not lightheaded at night . So I will be back for more! See more
