06.01.2022 Today after daycare drop off, I worked tirelessly to tidy up the house, put a load of laundry on and then make my way to Growing Footprints HQ to start my day. Being 7.5 months pregnant, I’m feeling the exhaustion and I think Bub must’ve had a growth spurt because I am bigger and more uncomfortable then ever..... **sigh....*** I then remembered it was international women’s day. I sat and thought how amazing we are as... women! I know this sounds cliche but if you stop and think about it we truly are. As young women we grow up in a world with so much pressure on our looks, our values and responsibilities. We try and find ourselves in this chaos. We work hard for our careers, at our jobs and at home. Suddenly there’s the added pressure of our intimate relationships and kids follow soon after. We grow these tiny humans in our belly, so sore and uncomfortable through out most of the 9 months of pregnancy and land ourselves yet again in chaos and pressure once our babies are born because not only is a child born but so is a mother in that moment. Once the kids are here we somehow lose ourselves amongst the chaos of trying to be the best we can. We strive to keep the house tidy, keep the kids fed and healthy, being mindful of how we parent and discipline, try and work so we still have some sort of our ‘normal’ life back that feels so far in the distance. Yet... through all this and so much more we push through! We make it and we do a damn good job at it! We survive every single curve ball life throws at us. The demands and the expectations in all this chaos and all that pressure we get through it wether we are tired, sick, emotionally and physically drained. Women are strong, an ever changing human being who adapts so well to all tasks at hand. I’m so proud to be a women in this day and age! Being surrounded by you everyday is a reminder of how we can do anything we put our minds to! I hope you take a moment today to recognise all that you’ve been through, all that you’ve achieved and how far you’ve come! What’s something as a women you’re grateful and proud of today? #internationalwomensday
