17.01.2022 So this morning we had a chat to an amazing business about tactics for scaling businesses cross-border. This is 100% the key for businesses that really want to take their business to the next level of growth. Here are 4 things to consider when doing this. ... 1. Website Ready Have multiple websites, .au, .com, .eu can really help remove barriers of purchasing when customers see familiarity. Like currency, domain name, spelling and local shipping times (if possible). 2. Dispatch 9 times out of 10, if your shipping takes more than 6 days, your drop off rates from your cart will dramatically increase. This leads to fewer sales or poor quality customer experience. Make it very clear how long shipping will be, dont leave it to the last step of the cart to tell customers. This can impact sales at a large scale, have a clear message on your landing page/ home page on how long shipping times are. 3. Test and Scale Work off data and use budgets wisely. Think about how much you want to invest in a test CBB (Cross Border Business) campaign and the different ways you can approach this. If you have the budget, spend more on the test and be ready to pivot from test mode to go mode. Higher budgets will allow you to pivot fast, adjust bids and change content (we will expand more on different methods in another post). Rather than smaller, drawn-out budgets that take longer for data to accumulate. 4. Bidding and Optimisation Use manual bid and ROAS bid to take advantage of the auction, split up your lookalikes buy intent. eg. make the following audiences then lookalike them. - People who have purchased higher than your average order value greater than or equal too - People who have purchased from you 4 times or more in the past 90 days - People who have purchased through Afterpay.

Ads that are more relevant cost less and see more results. This leads to better experiences for people and businesses alike. Ad relevance diagnostics can help you diagnose whether the ads you ran were relevant to the audience you reached. If your ads arent meeting your advertising objectives, you can use ad relevance diagnostics to understand whether adjustments to your creative assets, post-click experience or audience targeting could improve performance.
