25.01.2022 An opportunity has arisen for another staff member to join the crew at Grub. The position will initially involve 15 - 20 hours of work per week (mainly consisting of weekday afternoon and weekend shifts). The successful applicant must be available to begin work in late August / early September. The role mainly involves: ~ Customer service ~ Receiving and unpacking stock / orders ~ Continually topping up produce / bulk foods ~ Cleaning / general store duties... ~ Till reconciliation / cash handling This role will suit someone with an unwavering passion for health & nutrition. Qualifications in nutrition / naturopathy, &/or experience in the health food industry, are welcomed but not necessary. 21.01.2022 YES - WE ARE OPEN Just wanted to say a big thankyou & send some love out to our beautiful local community for supporting our little store as we navigate our way through these waves of uncertainty at the moment. We feel unbelievably grateful that we are able to keep our shop doors OPEN - not only now, but into the journey that is ahead of us all. We have also never felt so incredibly privileged to stock so many local & Australian made products ... not only do we get to sup...port these like-minded small businesses as they too walk into the unknown, but we are also able to continue to offer you as our customers, REAL food & holistic health / natural medicine options - at a time when it has probably never been more important. We've stepped up our (already stringent) health & safety practices to keep our beautiful community safe, however we would also like to ask that you stay at home and refrain from visiting our store if you are feeling unwell. Similarly, please talk to us if you are currently feeling well but would like to learn more about how you can support your immune system during these coming weeks/months. Natural medicines have so much to offer in regards to preventative health! 16.01.2022 Why hello there little Choc-Coconut Treats Super easy recipe from the Chef Pete Evans EASY KETO book, highly recommend - (although somehow I think I'm going to have to ration these ones out ... knowing they are in my fridge is going to play serious games with my chocolate loving mind ) They're basically like a little healthy fat bomb, two layers of homemade keto choccy with a layer of coconut butter in the middle. For those of you who haven't worked with coconut butter muc...h (it's different from coconut oil in that it's the actual creamed coconut flesh), my tip is to place the jar in a dish of warm water before starting - it will soften the coconut butter & make it much easier to scoop out. I used the @niulife brand that we sell at Grub. On a side note, did you notice how perfectly square these little babies are? I picked up two silicone icecube moulds from Big W a few weeks ago, for $2 each. These moulds are bringing me so much joy at the moment! All of my gummies & treats are so neat & symmetrical, I'm totally getting the visual satisfaction kicks every time I see them . See more

07.01.2022 I'm really impressed with these #dairyfree & #vegan cheeses by Dilectio Gourmet . Vegan Camembert & Blue Cheese? I have to admit I was skeptical. We 'taste-tested' with our customers all afternoon on Friday though, and every single reaction was 'yuuummm!!!' Many customers even went back for seconds. The ingredients are great by the way too - Cashews, Water, Coconut Oil, Vegan Probiotics & Cultures, Salt . We paired them with some @marysgonecrackers for our taste testing, which was a great combo. Highly recommend for your next grazing platter / dinner party / or a simple munch fest. #gruborganics

02.01.2022 Best #lifehack I've been given lately - cooking a tray of sausages in the oven . Am I the last one to get on to this? 180 degrees for about 30 - 40 minutes (I throw a few small knobs of ghee on top before baking too). This tiny hack has come in so handy over the past month or two & I've been using it as another tool to help fuel the kids with #realfood during the school hols. Here is their lunch today - the Eumundi Meats chicken sausages, some leftover chopped veg, and some... Nourishing Wholefoods pink kraut. Before the holidays I was also using it to help prep school lunches for the next day (my 9 year old son in particular loves a sausage wrap - I use Ancient Harvest or Mountain Bread wraps & add in some lettuce, cucumber & a nice chutney). He's all about maximising playtime at school so whatever I pack needs to be portable, able to be eaten quickly, & nutrient dense (cause he never stops moving ). It's a simple hack & to be honest I hesitated before posting cause I know there's nothing fancy goin on here . But you know what? I love simple. And I love hearing your simple hacks too, and sharing ideas that make eating old fashioned REAL FOOD more do-able in our modern crazy complicated lives. #gruborganics See more
